𝗩𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘃: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 Former world champion 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗸𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝘃 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘃 loves to sacrifice, particularly the exchange. But in this game, played at the FIDE World Championship in Tripoli (2004) he played a very rare 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲. Rook sacrifices for long term compensation are very rare as a rook is worth a lot of material. Today’s game features Topalov playing this very rare sacrifice. Topalov has 3 pawns for a rook but at a certain point he 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝟮 𝗽𝗮𝘄𝗻𝘀 for a rook yet he’s the one pushing for a win! This game will teach us a lot of 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 like why rooks can be 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘴, the 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘭𝘺 and the importance of having the initiative and a 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺. When batting and fielding there is a specific timing that your brain wants to use in order to prepare to move and perceive information Batting coaches tend to believe that triggers are to be completed BEFORE ball release. For #walkingbottom #terrestrial batters with a #Distal or #Global #motorpreference this is the case and they can stay still too but they move from a Wide base with more knee flexion into a narrower one with a little less knee flexion For #walkingTop #Aerial batters with a #Rhythmical motor preference the timing of the movement is AFTER ball release or the ball is struck Watch this interview with #rickyponting https://lnkd.in/eUP7xZeB where he talks very specifically about a Bob Woolmer no foot drill which is used to help develop late contact amongst other things, but this was used to change the timing of his movements, listen to what he says about his trigger and this drill in particular Watch Jonty Rhodes and the timing of his split step with when the bat strikes the ball and be is in the air at contact and organises his body in mid air for the next movement he also triggers the left foot to lane just post release like ponting For #Conceptual #motorProfiles their timing is ending at release of the ball or when the ball is struck so they can stay in movement The more people realise the differences the better as technical coaching in the Uk is a little rigid with the coaches one size fitting all We can do better and SHOULD do better, with @actiontypes I can profile the player and physically show which trigger works for that individual and how to adapt when required #actiontypes #individualisation #batting #cricket #fielding #preparationphase #perceptionActionCycle #motorSignatures

**Vince Carter’s Dunk of Death: The Human Highlight Reel** **Sydney, Australia (2000)** Yo, gather 'round for a tale that’ll make your jaw drop and your eyes pop! Let’s rewind to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, where Vince Carter, aka “Half-Man, Half-Amazing,” delivered what might be the dunk of the century—and possibly the millennium. Picture this: It’s the Olympic basketball semifinals, and Vince Carter’s got a one-on-one with French giant, Frederic Weis, who stands an intimidating 7'2". Now, most guys would think twice about trying to dunk on a dude that tall. But Carter? Nah, he was like, “Hold my Gatorade.” As Vince launched himself into the air, it was like watching a human rocket in slow motion. He soared over Weis, clearing him with the kind of grace that should be illegal. Carter’s dunk wasn’t just a slam—it was a high-altitude exhibition of “Oh, did you see that?!” Imagine if you will: Vince Carter dunking *over* a dude, who’s basically a walking skyscraper. It was like watching someone leap over a bus while doing the moonwalk. The French crowd was left gasping, while the American fans were straight-up losing their minds. The dunk didn’t just win the game; it won the "Holy S**t, Did That Just Happen?" award of the year. So, next time you’re feeling low, just remember Vince Carter and that gravity-defying masterpiece. It’s proof that sometimes, the only thing holding you back is your own imagination. Unless, of course, you’re trying to jump over a 7'2" Frenchman, in which case, you might need some extra hops and a lot of guts. #DunkOfDeath #VinceCarter #BasketballLegends #OlympicDrama #SlamDunk #HighFlying #AirCarter #SportsHistory #DunkLikeVince And here’s the video of that dunk:
