💫Elevating My Internship: The Power of Presentation (Aesthetic Labour) 💫 During my internship at Pempamsie Hotel I learned that in the hospitality industry, presentation is everything. Here's how I took matters into my own hands to raise the bar: • Uniform Upgrade ✔️ - The existing standard wasn’t quite professional. - I decided to create my own uniform, which included: - Tailored apron - Name tag - Tie - All the essential details to elevate my appearance • Looking the Part ✔️ - I wanted my look to reflect the high-quality service I provided. - This upgrade made me feel more confident and helped enhance my guest interactions. • Impact on Guest Experience✔️ - In hospitality, the way you present yourself impacts guest satisfaction just as much as your service. - The small changes I made had a big impact on how guests perceived my professionalism. •Lesson Learned ✔️ - Sometimes you have to create the standardyou want to see. - Taking ownership of your role, no matter how small, can make a big difference in how you’re perceived and how you perfor #Hospitality #Professionalism #InternshipExperience #FoodandBeverage #CustomerService #HospitalityManagement #PersonalGrowth #AestheticLabour #PempamsieHotel #LookingGoodandSoundingRight #HospitalityInternship #Digitalcreation #Personalblogging #Capcut #CapcutCreation

I Quit My First Internship Within 3 Days – And It Was the Best Decision Ever! As they say, failures are the biggest teachers of your life. There is something good always hidden in the face of adversaries. During my graduation, there was a mandatory 2 months of internship as part of the curriculum. As it was my very first experience of corporate life, I was very nervous for the same. However, when one of the biggest hotel chains called me for an internship offer, I was thrilled with the prospect of learning about the hotel industry from the experts. My first day went by smoothly in orientation and the document formalities. After that, I was allotted the bakery section to work in. The bakery of that hotel was situated in the underground where my phone caught no network and not to mention the never-ending working hours. The interns were treated no less than grade 4 workers. I could not tolerate any more and left the internship in between and got to learn the 2 biggest lessons of my life! - KNOW YOUR WORTH - Recognize your value and don’t settle for less. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS: If something feels wrong, it probably is. Trust your gut and have the courage to walk away. Shortly after, I secured another internship where I thrived, learned immensely, and felt valued. Tell me if you have gone through something like that in the comments and like if you connected with the story. #internship #hotel_industry #academic_life #failures #LifeLessons #BoldDecisions #SelfDiscovery

As my 10-week Sales and Operations Internship at Bell Harbor International Conference Center comes to an end, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the amazing team that made this summer unforgettable. Working alongside such talented and passionate individuals has been an inspiring experience, and I’ve learned so much about the hospitality industry and event management. A special thank you to Kevin Siegrist, Octavio Lopez, Kelly DiNapoli, and Camila Ormachea, who provided invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout this journey. Your leadership has left a lasting impact on me, and I am incredibly appreciative of the opportunities you’ve given me to grow both professionally and personally. To my coworkers, thank you for welcoming me into the Bell Harbor family with open arms. The positive, collaborative culture here is something truly special, and it’s clear that this is more than just a workplace—it’s a community. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue pursuing hospitality, or whatever career opportunity may come my way. Building Lasting Connections During My Internship (Importance of Small Talks during Service) During my internship at Pempamsie Hotel I had the chance to interact with NACCA, an educational group holding a two-week conference. This experience was a turning point in my journey. NACCA’s mission of creating curricula for people with disabilities inspired me. I learned basic communication in sign language and Braille from some attendees. • Noticing Exhaustion: I observed that many attendees were exhausted after long meetings but the Hotel didn’t have any fun event plan for them. •. Taking Initiative: I approached the ever gorgeous management consultant Yvette Iyadede, complimented her, and sparked a conversation. • Going the Extra Mile: I introduced them to local attractions, ensuring they enjoyed their downtime. • Building Rapport: They appreciated my service and invited me to join them one evening. • The Takeaway: This experience reinforced that hospitality goes beyond service—it’s about making lasting, positive connections. It was an unforgettable time that enriched my perspective on guest relations and inclusive service. #Hospitality #GuestRelations #foodandbeverageservice #smalltalksinservice #BeYou #aestheticlabour #CustomerService #InclusiveService #InternshipExperience #ProfessionalGrowth #serviceismylife

Absolutely appreciating and embracing every moment of his hospitality internship with PAX 🤝 My journey isn’t just about mastering the art of check-ins and check-outs; it’s a voyage of discovering the essence of creating memorable guest experiences. From the bustling reception desk to the heart of the bustling kitchen, my internship is a hands-on exploration of the diverse facets of the industry 🌟 PAX helped in making my internship an immersive experience, and this hospitality program provided me with an inside look at what it takes to excel in this dynamic field. Whether it’s learning the art of exceptional customer service, mastering the nuances of culinary craftsmanship, or understanding the intricacies of working for events from culinary perspective, I get a taste of it all 🍜 This journey is not just about practical experiences; it’s a chance to understand the spirit of hospitality from the ground up. It’s about welcoming guests with a smile that reaches the eyes, serving them with passion, and ensuring their every need is met with a solution. It’s about stepping into the shoes of a hotelier, a chef, and a manager, all in one 🌐 So Grateful that PAX is committed to providing internships that go beyond the expected. It’s about making hospitality a way of life, and turning internships into transformative experiences that stay with us long after the journey ends 🙌🏼 To anyone considering an internship abroad, I would definitely recommend connecting with PAX 🤝 They will do everything they can to make your experience as valuable and insightful as possible 💯 Don’t hesitate to get out of your comfort zone and make your dreams turn into reality” 🚀💭 - Jashandeep #mauritius #hospitalityinternship #internships #internshipprogram #internshipopportunity #internshipopportunities #internshipinmauritius #internabroad #internshipstudent

How I moved from internship to full time!!!! without having to complete my internship 🕺🕺 So my boss added me as a Co-host and we had a guest book, this was my first experience as a Co-host 😁😁 I was literally shaking...... but I told myself I could do it✔️ I reached out to my host informing him that we were expecting a guest and HOST says TO me; this is your first task as a Co-host and as an intern🤦 You will ensure our guest is checked in✅ I was left alone to handle the whole process, I quickly swung into action. I reached out to our guest, inquiring of his location and how long it will take him to arrive, I kept communicating our guest till he got to our property and was checked in✅ I sent messages to ensure he was comfortable and if he needed any assistance. I checked up on our guest in the morning, checked up and sent a gentle reminder for check-out. I maintained effective communication till our guest checked out yesterday. Guest gave me an excellent review and my boss lifted my internship and said HEY TAKE OVER THE PROPERTY, MANAGE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, including cleaning, handyman✅✅ I smiled while going to bed and slept like a baby 🥰 Effective communication is key to hosting a guest and ensuring the guest has a wonderful experience!!! #shorttermrentals #shorttermstay #airbnb #virtualcohost #virtualassistant
