Utility companies need to operate, maintain and upgrade their networks for several decades. As someone living in Houston which is prone to extreme weather events, I fully appreciate the need for resilient and efficient utility infrastructure. Snam, a leading European utility company, is using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to create a virtual twin of its infrastructure network. The virtual twin will connect to real time data sources, simulate different operating conditions and perform what if analysis to better operate and maintain assets throughout their lifecycle. The virtual twin will be continuously updated as assets are updated and new ones are installed, ensuring an accurate and up to date source of information.
