Our client, Scantinel Photonics, specialises in manufacturing highly compact LIDAR chips for the automotive industry. They approached us to create a video that would effectively explain their product to automotive manufacturers. The brief outlined the need to showcase how their system uses the Doppler effect to determine the relative velocity of objects in front of a vehicle, enabling advanced navigation, self-driving capabilities, and safety systems. This technology helps build an accurate and precise understanding of the 3D real-world environment. Additionally, they requested that the video include realistic driving scenarios, such as city driving, adverse weather conditions, and examples of accident and small obstacle avoidance, highlighting the high-resolution capabilities of their technology. They even wanted to incorporate light-hearted moments, like a family of hedgehogs safely crossing the road. We combined all of these elements into a narrative that begins with a moment of jeopardy, presenting a situation in the way viewers might typically expect it to unfold.
