Peace and Blessings, everyone. Leaders with vision are tasked with many responsibilities as their vision comes to fruition, one of which is communicating that vision to others and then empowering those people with the tools they need to make it their own.
This year, thanks to the support of Glick Philanthropies and The Indianapolis Foundation, my nonprofit has been able to hire our first two program coordinator positions! I’d like to highlight one of these program coordinators—Dr. Jessica Houston—who has been working with us for three months. Her contributions have been absolutely INVALUABLE. She’s a true asset to our team and I’m thankful that Glick made it possible for us to click, connect and create positive impact for Black entrepreneurs!
In addition to growing our team, the nonprofit has been blessed to launch our own giving system! As much as foundations get credit for being the engine that drives nonprofit sustainability, individual donors make up the vast majority of philanthropy. People Power is truly unparalleled and launching our giving system has empowered us to tap into that power as we galvanize support to continue moving our mission forward.
Finally, these two updates come on the back of an INCREDIBLY successful Summit, our fourth one and it was—by far—our best one! Checkout the recap video, courtesy of JBF Media, our longstanding marketing partner. If you’d like to see our mission over forward, I encourage you to engage. How can you engage? Invest in our mission. As a leader, one of my main goals is to focus on provide opportunities for everybody to participate who wants to play a meaningful role in seeing my vision come fruition. Accept this invitation, click the link and join the journey to bringing the dreams of Black side hustlers to life.
To all the leaders out there: how did you learn to TRUST others with the vision that God entrusted you to steward?
See yall tomorrow. #LVMP#Powerpreneurhttps://lnkd.in/gz4XQTiH
Go Pack Go! College Possible Wisconsin is honored to be among the ten nonprofit organizations to receive an impact grant this year from the Green Bay Packers Foundation. This matching grant supports our statewide expansion efforts in addition to other efforts like career exploration and strengthened support for students transitioning from 2-year to 4-year degree-granting institutions. We are grateful for the Packers and their investment in Wisconsin.
We are hearing directly from social sector leaders about the impacts of recent attacks on race equity and DEI more broadly. Join for this important conversation!

#Article | What trust based #philanthropy looks like, and why megadonors should listen more to organizations’ needs.
This article looks at the transformative effect MacKenzie Scott’s one time thoughtful gift has had for some of the organizations highlighted.
Having awarded more than 2000 organizations and given away more than $15B to date, some meaningful patterns have emerged besides financial stability. Improving morale, feelings of empowerment and capacity to think creatively by staff and leadership have had a tremendous influence to driving their missions.

"The MacKenzie Effect (How Billionaire MacKenzie Scott Is Changing the Giving Game)" is out now in the new #Philanthropy edition of Town&Country Magazine: “She focuses so much on the organizations and elevating them... Not herself.” It's incredible to see these #nonprofit leaders, including our own Cecilia Conrad, covered in such style and given this space to tell their stories. By yielding control and the spotlight, MacKenzie Scott has made the work of these communities the beating heart of hundreds of narratives in 2024. Deep thanks to Laura Evans and Hearst Magazines for the many months of collaboration to make this possible! https://lnkd.in/g-PP53FF
Thank you, Philanthropy Colorado, for highlighting our work and the impact of Adelante!
As Hispanic Heritage Month concludes, sustained investments in Colorado’s Latino communities and Latino-led nonprofits remain essential to building a more equitable future for our state.
Adelante Colorado is a testament to what intentional investments can achieve. With the support of The Colorado Health Foundation, this pilot program nurtures the growth of Latino leaders and nonprofit organizations through grants, leadership development, and community engagement opportunities.
The latest Adelante Colorado Evaluation Report highlights the program's success:
100% of participants reported growth in leadership, organizational capacity, and community collaboration.
82% increased their budgets and fundraising efforts.
67% grew their staffing and deepened their advocacy and strategic planning efforts.
Adelante is about more than metrics—it's about building personal power and fostering trusted relationships that elevate the value of our leaders and communities. With one-third of Colorado’s residents projected to be Latino in the next 20-25 years, the well-being of these communities is inseparable from the well-being of our state.
