We're all pretty familiar with the practice of modifying plants to resist pests or disease, increase yields, or to confer specific nutritional benefits. But a new wave of so-called 'molecular farming' startups is using plants like bioreactors to produce everything from dairy, egg and meat proteins, to growth factors, high intensity sweeteners, enzymes and vaccines. So when does it make sense to use plants instead of, say, microbes, to make said ingredients, and what will distinguish the winners from the losers in this emerging space? I'm looking forward to moderating a panel on #molecularfarming at SynBioBeta on May 8 with three amazing speakers: - Dr. Alan Berry at Elo Life Systems, - Magi Richani at Alpine Bio, - and Dr. John Hamer at DCVC Bio. #SynBioBeta2024 #MolecularFarming #SyntheticBiology #SustainableFoodSystems AgFunder #agtech #foodtech #agrifoodtech Register here: https://lnkd.in/gVZMvUe2

''𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻''💪 KMC goal 2🌱: Increase the use of Danish-produced feed protein over imported alternatives. Despite no increase in feed protein sales, the goal of delivering 10,000 tons of potato protein to Danish agriculture by 2024/25 remains intact. 🥔 Fortunately, we have ongoing projects that already show potential for increasing sales.🚀 New studies reveal the opportunity to use a larger portion of protein production in animal feed, especially for piglets, while keeping their well-being in mind. 🐷 It's been proven that substances in the protein are harmless to animals’ health, allowing us to replace more imported protein, mainly soy, with local potato protein without compromising feed quality. 🌾 Learn more about our Goal 2, covering 'Zinc is out, enter PotaPro 1500' and 'Continued Development' here. 👇 https://lnkd.in/dXzyCC3m

The challenge with basic lactic acid bacteria is the short shelf life. It can be as short as 3 days before majority live cfu loss. This means the effectiveness of your solution is compromised before it starts. This is why we developed BioHub LaB. A low cost, high CFU solution that can be mixed when you want it. Watch for the video tomorrow showing how easy it is to use. #excitingnewsolution #simplesolutions #biohublab
It's always exciting to bring a new product to the market place. BioHub LaB is the first fully soluble basic lactobacillus product on the Australian market. It can be mixed fresh on farm, then unused portions stored in a fridge for later use. This high cfu (over 110 million) product ensure that you have maximum viable biology every application. The high cfu counts also makes it the most cost effective per hectare biological on the market. BioHub LaB components have also been developed to help with salt mitigation, making it the perfect companion to our hugely successful BioHub Sequest. #newsolution #biohublab

🎯 Future Focus >>> Co-Development of Novel Bio-Fungicides & Bioinsecticides One of our strategic priorities is the co-development of novel bio-fungicides & bioinsecticides by leveraging our BioNexus library. We have 170 novel microbial strains identified from the collection of close to 18000 microbial strains, with each of these novel strains having the potential to solve critical issues in Indian agriculture. With changes in climatic conditions, the disease & pest incidences have been on the rise, impacting the yield & quality of the produce. We are advancing our solutions to target pertinent issues like Sclerotinia in Mustard & Root Rot in Corn. We aim to bring bio-based solutions to thrive along with the chemical counterparts to enhance the efficacy of the spraying solutions to boost the innate health of the plants along with protection against disease & insects. For us, co-development of novel solutions is strategically significant which harnesses our research strengths and market reach of the industry partners. This collaborative effort aims to create effective, eco-friendly solutions for pest and disease management. Moreover, co-development encourages knowledge sharing and resource optimization, leading to faster product development and regulatory approval. 🌱 Join us in creating a sustainable roadmap based on our BioNexus platform to leverage the strength of microbes! #bioprime #bioprimeagrisolutions #funding #fundingannouncement #seriesafunding #edaphon #biologicals #sustainability #innovation #agriculture #bionexus

🚜 Welcome to Bioprime™ Knowledge Camp! Season 1 EP 6 In this episode of BioPrime Knowledge Camp, we are talking about Swift Hormone Activation by Fortisea for accelerated growth. Everyone wants faster & reproducible results in the fields! It is now feasible to achieve faster and more efficient growth because of developments in agricultural research. Majority of seaweed based biostimulants rely on primary metabolites, making its impact limited to counter abiotic stress. That's where Fortisea from BioPrime comes in! Fortisea functions by means of Swift Hormone Activation, which goes beyond stress management. This indicates that it causes the targeted cells to react quickly, accelerating the growth of roots and vegetative growth. The boost in plant's growth gets complimented by better yield, making Fortisea a winnable choice for the farmers. 🔍 Want to learn more? Talk to us and see how Fortisea can help in getting faster, reproducible & consistent results across diverse climatic zones. #bioprime #bioprimeagrisolutions #fortisea #swifthormoneactivation #fastergrowth #agriculture #innovation #austainablefarming #knowledgecamp
