As our understanding of public health evolves, it's evident that ensuring #vaccine safety is an ongoing process, not just a milestone achieved at approval. Postauthorization research plays a critical role in identifying and addressing adverse events that may not emerge during clinical trials. However, the current funding landscape for these essential studies is limited, underscoring the need for sustained and dedicated resources. 😷 Do national innovation projects shape citizens’ public health behaviours? A recent paper, co-authored by Prof Martin Bauer, investigated whether, in the context of rising nationalism, drawing attention to national innovation strategies influences public health behaviours, such as vaccine uptake. 📊 Results showed no significant impact of national framing on vaccine willingness, even among those with nationalist or science-sceptical views, suggesting that public health authorities should be cautious with nationalist framing as it may be ineffective, or even counter-productive. 🔗 Read the paper: https://lnkd.in/ebegVWdm #OpenAccess #Research #PublicHealth #Science #Vaccine

Professor Tony Blakely, Chair of the first phase of the Inquiry, has said it was “undeniable” that vaccine mandates eroded trust. https://bit.ly/3Ve7MJ3 This aligns with AUT research on vaccine mandates conducted by NZPRI Director, Lisa Meehan, our former Director, Gail Pacheco, Head of Nursing, Jan Dewar and Associate Dean Māori Advancement, Denise Wilson. Deborah Conrad worked at United Memorial Medical Center, part of Rochester Regional Health (RRH), until October 2021, when she said she was fired for reporting vaccine-related adverse events. Many have suffered vaccine injuries or job loss due to government overreach. Everyone should have access to vaccines, but no one should be forced or coerced. The World Health Assembly — the member nations of the WHO — will convene in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 27 to June 1 to discuss and approve amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) and the WHO Pandemic Agreement. Both are actually treaties. It’s imperative that we shed light on their supposed “mission critical for humanity.” The proposed WHO treaty and IHR amendments gravely threaten our rights and freedoms as they stand to: ● Allow the WHO to declare an emergency at will. ● Require member nations to use certain “health products” like vaccines, drugs, etc., while prohibiting others during emergencies. The American people deserve to have a say in these important public health decisions that will significantly affect our future — especially in light of the abysmal public health failures during COVID-19. What You Can Do: 1. Ask your state and federal lawmakers to demand that the administration submit any pandemic related treaties for the Senate’s advice and consent. 2. Call your U.S. Senators and your U.S. Representative and ask them to require Senate ratification of both WHO pandemic preparedness treaties. Google "Stop the WHO Power Grab! alignact" to find more ways to act.

Republicans are brimming with changes they’d like to make to public health agencies and proposals to dismantle infrastructure to respond to pandemics. The top health care priorities include ⬇️ 💉 Vaccine approvals and legal immunity - People within the Trump campaign have publicly questioned vaccines. If Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is given an important health policy position, he could greatly influence the way vaccines are regulated and distributed. Will that happen? 📺 Pharma drug ads - RFK Jr. and other folks in the 'Make America Healthy Again' movement want to end television drug advertisements. The First Amendment will likely play a role here. 🏛️ Public health and science agency overhauls - GOP lawmakers are eager for public health reform. House Republicans this year recommended restructuring and retooling funding for the NIH; appropriators also sought to slash CDC funds. If Republicans take control of both the House and Senate, the pathway opens up for several of these reforms to make their way into the budget process and quickly get to Trump’s desk. When the head of the most important public health organization says we deserve better, we should listen to him. Georges Benjamin, MD, executive director of the American Public Health Association (APHA). "To effectively lead our nation's top health agency, a candidate should have the proper training, management skills, temperament, and the trust of the public," he wrote. "Unfortunately, Mr. Kennedy fails on all fronts." "Kennedy's past statements and views on vaccines alone should disqualify him from consideration," Benjamin continued. "He has stated that 'there's no vaccine that is safe and effective' and touted misinformation claiming that vaccines cause autism. A serious candidate for this position would follow the decades of real-world evidence that shows that vaccines are safe and prevent as many as 5 million deaths each year." "The American people deserve better than Mr. Kennedy," he noted. "We need an HHS secretary under the Trump administration who will listen to science, not discredit it ... We urge President-elect Trump to select a qualified health leader that is properly trained and has the management skills to be the nation's top health official. We look forward to working with the incoming administration to advance effective, evidence-based approaches to improve the health of the nation." https://lnkd.in/eAFDv5QS
