The price of poor Knowledge Management. In my previous post I shared signs of poor Knowledge Management. One might ask, “What’s so bad about it? We are doing a decent job anyway”. Well, there are consequences of poor Knowledge Management that you might not be aware of. Here are some that I have observed. 😶 Low productivity 😣 Employee frustration 🙄 Increased risk, due to working outside of regulations 😮 High error rate 😔 Loss of expertise, because experts who leave the company take their knowledge with them 😨 Wasted resources, like redundant work, inefficient work 😱 Reputation damage 😢 Loss of competitive advantage Leaders understand that knowledge managed well inside their organization is a superpower. They understand that the function of knowledge management is handled best by people who are dedicated to it, not by people who do it as a side task next to their ‘real’ role. When there is no commitment, there is no progress. Which consequences of poor knowledge management have you experienced in your organization?
