Bad Comments ❌ Too many comments are almost worse than no comments. They inflate the code and typically overwhelm the person working on it. Some examples of what a bad comment is... Nonlocal Info - Commenting about a bit of code that the comment is not near. Commented out code - This often remains in the software for no real reason and nobody dares to delete it because somebody at some point thought it might be needed. It bloats the code and is 'probably' never going to be used. Redundant or Misleading Comments - Usually done with a good intention at the time but the control might have changed over time and the comment is no longer serving its original purpose. . .delete them. There are many more to be honest, but these are some of the most common. I have added a link below in comments to a video showing some of the actual comments on the Simpsons Hit and Run game for the PlayStation - Hilarious this even went on at that level 😂 😂 if you can spare 2 minutes watch it.

Is It Over For Helldivers 2? Helldivers 2 has been a massive success on both Steam and PS5. Players loved the planetary chaos, over-the-top action, and surprisingly smart live-service elements, it’s easy to see why people have been loving it. However, Sony has just set off a firestorm of controversy with a seemingly out-of-the-blue decision: Requiring all PC players to link their Steam accounts to a PlayStation Network (PSN) account to continue playing. What started as a huge win for Sony might end up a self-inflicted wound. Why are players so angry? https://lnkd.in/dMRKGQMj

What was your first video game system? Mine was the original Nintendo, the NES. What about you? Maybe Game Cube, maybe Super Nintendo, maybe Nintendo 64, or maybe even PS4. (YOUTHS.) You probably already noticed but each of these videos showcases a different Channel 3 feature, and on channel3.gg you can rate and review systems too. So let's take a look at the highest rated systems on Channel 3. Number 1, Super Nintendo, with an average rating of 4.8. And tied for number 2, PS5 and the original Nintendo, each with an average rating of 4.7. Head on out to channel3.gg, create an account, and you can rate and review systems.

If it scares you, do it anyway! I didn't think I had it in me to review games outside the casino space. Yet, here I am, outside my comfort zone, reviewing Sony's Astro's playroom. To acquaint players with the capabilities of the dual-sense wireless controller on the PlayStation 5, Team ASOBI created and Sony published this platformer. Is it like any other game guide or tutorial you've seen? definitely not! The PS5 was released in 2020, but I bet my bottom dollar that this is the best scenario of gamified learning you might come across this decade. Prepare for sensory stimulation at its finest with the PS5 controller's near-realistic haptic feedback as you try out the pre-installed tutorial. Don't own a PS5? No problem, as you can experience it through my video. -------------------------------------------------------- If you're watching me for the first time, I'm Emmanuella Oluwafemi. I'm one DM away if you'd love an #iGamingwriter or video content creator who is open to bringing the craziest ideas to life! It comes pre installed with every PS5 console, so you can get to playing

This is Astro Bot on the PS5 – a game that turned me into a giggling, button-mashing kid all over again. My kid insisted I get it, and honestly, I didn’t take much convincing. I’d played the first Astro game, which was basically a nostalgia-packed demo for the PS5, showcasing PlayStation’s history and classic consoles. It was a great little trip down memory lane. But this Astro Bot? It’s an entirely new level – think platforming perfection mixed with slapstick, and yeah, it’s pretty amazing. Let’s start with the visuals – and prepare to have your eyeballs spoiled. The graphics are next-level! Every world is a vibrant playground, packed with detail, and Astro’s galaxy feels like stepping into an animated dream. And then there’s the story – simple, sure, but with enough charm to keep you hooked. Astro’s ship breaks down, his little bot friends are scattered across the galaxy, and now he’s on a hilarious (and surprisingly emotional) quest to bring them back. The game's slapstick humor is undeniably creative and fun. But the real magic is in the DualSense controller. Every jump, every punch, every Astro tumble (and there are plenty!) comes through in the haptics. It’s like the controller is alive in your hands, making you feel every cartoonish moment. The speakers in the controller? They’re next-level too, adding a whole new dimension with sound effects right from the little guy himself. And the gyroscope – tilting the controller to move Astro feels surprisingly natural. It’s all part of the slapstick charm; one second you’re guiding him gracefully, the next you’re accidentally flinging him into a wall. Oops! The speaker on the controller being utilized in such a remarkable way is what truly made me fall in love with this game, and I wonder why other PS5 titles aren't taking advantage of the controller's speaker. This is truly a fantastic sensory experience. And let’s talk about how much this game is like a love letter to classic Nintendo platformers, especially Mario. Team Asobi clearly knew what they were doing. They took that Nintendo charm, threw in some playful surprises, and made it PlayStation’s own. The levels are packed with secrets, jokes, and mini heart attacks when you miss that one tricky jump! And Astro’s expressions? Pure comedy gold – I mean, the guy manages to look surprised, determined, and slightly clueless all at once. There are a few minor gripes – the campaign is a bit short, and there’s no way to change the difficulty. But honestly, that doesn’t even matter when you’re having this much fun. Astro Bot is more than a game; it’s like PlayStation saying, “Hey, we can do playful, nostalgic platformers too!” And they nailed it. So join me as I break down why Astro Bot is a must-play.

I have this hypothesis that one of (!) the reasons for the slow transition from last-gen (i.e. PS4) to current gen is that physical media is no longer around to force the issue to the same extent. Used to be that game stores had to make a choice regarding what they keep in stock/on shelves, and new games always took precedence, gradually lowering the availability of last-gen games over time. These days with an entire console backlog - more or less - available online, you can migrate away from your PS4 once you're good and ready. Plus you don't have to worry about games going out of stock for the newer platform either, as it's digital to an even greater extent than the console you already own. I don't have any evidence of this really, but it makes sense to me.

Does anyone else feel like it's too soon to remaster Horizon Zero Dawn? Between requiring a PS login for the new version and removing the older version from digital stores for purchase, they are limiting their player access. A PlayStation account isn't supported in many countries and I doubt the remastered game will be compatible on a steam deck like the current version is. it's already a beautiful game that was only recently brought to PC. In my opinion, if you're still actively selling copies of your original game, it's too soon to remaster it, let alone make it the only true version of the game. Remastering should be about giving fresh life to a classic that folks can't access or play anymore. I hope Sony does the right thing and leaves the classic version in stores and/or removes the PS login requirement.
