The UAE continues to solidify its position as a global leader in #cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, taking #proactive steps to safeguard its digital landscape in an increasingly interconnected world. I am pleased to share that on July 27, the UAE's Cybersecurity Council announced the development of three new policies that are set to revolutionize the nation's cybersecurity framework: 'cloud computing and data security,' 'Internet of Things #IoT #security,' and 'cybersecurity operations centers.' These forward-looking #policies are expected to be rolled out by the end of 2024, demonstrating the UAE's commitment to staying ahead of the curve in the dynamic world of #digitalsecurity. These initiatives are designed to enhance the UAE’s standing as a global hub for #advancedtechnology and #AI. The anticipated executive regulations for the 'encryption' law, which will set the main standards for securing data transmission in line with cutting-edge quantum systems, are also expected to be issued before the end of this year. This move highlights the UAE’s strategic focus on establishing dynamic #frameworks that can adapt to and integrate the latest technological #advancements. The UAE's #leadership in this domain is not just about creating policies but also about implementing them effectively. The country has faced and continues to repel malicious #cyberattacks targeting strategic sectors, particularly in #finance. By employing the highest international standards, the UAE's cybersecurity system has successfully identified and neutralized these threats, reinforcing its reputation as a global cybersecurity powerhouse. As digital transformation accelerates across all sectors, including health, energy, education, aviation, and more, the UAE recognizes the growing need for an advanced cybersecurity #infrastructure. The new policies and #regulations are designed to address this need by providing comprehensive protection against developing threats, particularly those exacerbated by AI-driven technologies used to probe digital weaknesses in critical infrastructure. These progressive steps not only protect the UAE's digital assets from potential threats but also highlight the country's leadership in setting global standards in cybersecurity and AI. The #UAE is not just keeping pace with the rapid developments in these fields; it is leading the charge and setting #benchmarks for others to follow. https://lnkd.in/d9ViHGZx #uaeleadership #cybersecurity #artificialintelligence #digitaltransformation #globalstandards #innovation #futurefocus #digitalfortress

ICYMI - NIST held a workshop with the goal of understanding and developing a joint NIST framework for Data Governance and Management (DGM) profile! This joint framework can be used together with the NIST Privacy Framework, Cybersecurity Framework, and AI Risk Management Framework. Don’t worry if you missed the workshop, the livestream was recorded and available below. I highly recommend reviewing the DGM Profile (linked below) and submitting feedback to NIST by July 30th!! This is the push we need to implement more effective data governance into current frameworks! 👏👏👏
Help inform the NIST Privacy Framework Version 1.1 update and development of a joint NIST Frameworks Data Governance and Management (DGM) Profile! Today is the last day to register for NIST’s upcoming Ready, Set, Update! Privacy Framework 1.1 + Data Governance and Management Profile Workshop. Since the release of the NIST Privacy Framework Version 1.0 in 2020, NIST has released the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and updated the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) to version 2.0. In light of these and other developments in information technology, stakeholders have expressed a desire for a Privacy Framework update to maintain alignment with CSF 2.0 as well as a resource to support use of NIST frameworks for privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence together. The workshop aims to gather stakeholder feedback to ensure Privacy Framework 1.1 and the DGM Profile effectively address these needs. Registration is free and required for this event, whether you plan to attend in-person or virtually. Learn more about the workshop, including speakers, agenda, and registration: https://lnkd.in/eqSzCqtQ #Cybersecurity #InformationTechnology #ArtificialIntelligence #AI
