A financial planner’s new book eschews mention of financial jargon and fancy investment techniques in order to get to the root of people’s relationship with money. It adds up to “a book of permissions to boldly take hold of your life and money aspirations without shame or judgment or justification,” said Dr. Preston D. Cherry, AFC®, CFT™, CFP® Cherry of Concurrent Financial Planning. #wealthmanagement #investing #financialplanning

There’s a perception that building wealth is complicated. It isn’t. There are only four basic components: focus, Stoicism, time and diversification. Note that EASY and SIMPLE mean two different things. No, building wealth is not always easy — and that’s why having an adviser can help — but it could hardly be more simple. #Investing #Building #Wealth Tim Horrocks FPFS Lloyd Davies Matthew Horrocks Owen Williams BA (Hons) FPFS Chris Wallsgrove BA(Hons) FPFS Matt Millard DipPFS PFE(PIP)® Matthew Frary APFS Brandon Lamam Mark Roe FPFS Nick Hutchings ⏩️Experienced Financial Planner⏪️

🚨 Avoid a Financial Adviser Who... When it comes to choosing a Financial Adviser, how do you know which one is right for you? 🚩 Here are 10 red flags to watch out for to ensure you're working with the right professional for your financial goals: 1. Pushes High-Commission Products If you Adviser prioritises their own commissions over your financial we--being, be careful! 2. Lacks Transparency If your Adviser isn't transparent about fees, services, or potential conflicts of interest, proceed with caution. 3. Overpromises Returns There is no crystal ball, and past performance is NOT indicative of future returns. Steer clear of Advisers who guarantee high returns. 4. Doesn't Listen to Your Goals Your Adviser should prioritise your financial goals and tailor recommendations accordingly to suit YOU. 5. Has a Poor Reputation Research your Adviser's background and reputation to avoid working with someone with a history of misconduct. 6. Doesn't Educate You A good Adviser will give you financial knowledge of your own, not keep you in the dark. After all, they are there to ADVISE you, not to dictate to you. 7. Is Unresponsive If your Adviser is difficult to reach or refuses to have contact with you, tread carefully and make sure you know potential reasons why. 8. Lacks Credentials Look for Advisers with relevant certifications and qualifications, or ask you Adviser what their qualifications are. 9. Doesn't Provide a Written Agreement Always get a written agreement outlining the services provided and the fees involved. 10. Doesn't Have Your Best Interests at Heart Ultimately, your Adviser should be working towards YOUR success. This means only working for you and with no other agenda. Choosing the right Financial Adviser is essential to your long-term financial success. Don't settle for anything less than an Adviser who truly has your best interests at heart. At the FT event recently, I was on a panel where we were discussing financial advice, and I made it a point to talk about something that often gets overlooked: the real value of what we do. So much of the conversation in our profession tends to focus on things like dividend yields or individual stocks—these very technical details. Don’t get me wrong, those things matter. But that’s not where the true value of financial advice lies. It’s not in the minutiae of the markets. It’s in what that money can actually do for someone’s life, their family, and their future. I don’t get bogged down in the details of individual investments. That’s not my role, and honestly, that’s not where I bring the most value. I leave the nitty-gritty to the experts who spend every day analysing the markets, tracking trends, and making those decisions. They’re the ones keeping a close eye on things like global political shifts and economic movements. My role is different. I help clients understand what their money can do for them. It’s about making sure their financial situation aligns with the life they want to live. Whether that’s retiring earlier, helping their children through university, or having the freedom to travel, the focus is always on their life goals. I’m here to ensure their money is working for them, not the other way around. This is why owning your worth in any profession is so important. In financial advice, it’s easy for people to focus on fees, or to compare costs without understanding the full picture of what they’re getting. But the fees we charge reflect the depth of care, knowledge, and responsibility we bring to the table. We’re not just offering investment advice, we’re offering peace of mind. We’re offering a sense of security that people’s hard-earned money is in safe hands and that their future is being looked after. It’s not always easy to communicate that value, especially in an industry where people are often misinformed or fed incorrect ideas. But it’s crucial to stand firm in the worth of what we do. The expertise we bring, the advice we give, and the long-term relationships we build with our clients are worth far more than any single stock or investment. There’s a lot of noise out there, a lot of focus on price without enough attention to the value behind it. But I know the work I do matters deeply to the people I work with, and I’m proud of that. In picture: Photo of me and my partner in crime at the FT event, whose friendship and support on the event and through the years have helped me become confident in owning this role I play and shouting from the rooftops how important it is. Thank you, Ceri Griffiths!
