Whole Foods Market’s food trends report for 2025 is out and it’s fun to see what consumers are excited about eating next year. My friends at Daily Crunch were recognized in two categories: international snacking (global flavor inspiration) and crunch (the texture of the moment). The much-anticipated report also noted that shoppers are looking to incorporate more protein in their diet beyond traditional powders and bars, with an emphasis on ramping up protein consumption at meal times. Daily Harvest can help there, with nourishing options for breakfast, lunch and dinner — and more product innovation in the pipeline with protein demand in mind. Stay tuned for more details! #foodindustry #foodtrends #healthandwellness https://lnkd.in/gqYArFPm

QSRs are getting a healthy makeover While fast food used to mean greasy burgers and fries, it’s clear that consumers are craving nutritious, convenient meals. We’re seeing a rise in fast-casual spots like Sweetgreen, Just Salad, and Dig, all dedicated to fresh, wholesome ingredients. Even legacy chains like McDonald's and Burger King are stepping up their game with better options, like Burger King’s Impossible Whopper, which boosted foot traffic by 18.5%! Customers are also expecting transparency in ingredient sourcing and nutrition. Brands that share their stories—like sweetgreen visible ingredient boards or Panera Bread commitment to transparency—are winning loyalty. As a former VP at Sweetgreen noted: “The expectation for quality and transparent sourcing has only grown, especially post-COVID.” There’s a real opportunity for QSRs to innovate beyond traditional healthy options and cater to the health-conscious crowd. What healthy changes have you noticed in your favorite QSRs?
