Shrinkflation vs Moreflation 🤔 🤔 🤔 Domino's gets it right. More is better. Give consumers more value, and they have a reason to come back. Give them less, and it gets harder to justify. https://lnkd.in/g6muBtP4 It's true for pizza. It's true for chips. And many other examples. Start giving your consumer more, not less. #InsightPack https://lnkd.in/ge8TgCMw

When I order from Domino's, my pizza always arrives incredibly fast – usually within 10-12 minutes. But how does the company manage to deliver the hot pizza so fast? Well, it's because Domino's has their own delivery system. Even when you order through an aggregator, Domino's handles the delivery internally. And this is the key difference between Domino's and other pizza brands. Also I've noticed that other pizza brands mostly rely on aggregators for delivery, as might be they don't have a handle on the delivery part yet. This is probably the reason why other brands took as much as 40-45 minutes to deliver, in spite of the outlet being located just about 1.5-2 KM away from the delivery location. Not only did the other brands deliver late (via the aggregator) but as a result, their pizza was literally lukewarm or totally cold when delivered, making it a double whammy. Also, using own delivery and insulated bags to keep pizzas hot during delivery, gives more control and a better customer experience. Now, the company is gaining visibility on food aggregator platforms while also enhancing their customer service. Have you had a similar experience with Domino's or any other brand? This was in 2009 when Domino's was in a tough spot. People said their pizza tasted like cardboard. Their stock price was falling fast. The brand was close to being a joke. Then Domino's did something crazy. They admitted they messed up. They showed everyone the bad reviews they got (on Tv). And at the same time, they changed their pizza completely. New crust, new sauce, new cheese – everything. What happened then? Domino's went from being a joke to a big success. 🍕 Their stock price increased from 8$ to 50$ in just a few years and their 🍕 Same-store sales jumped nearly 10%. 🍕 More people bought their pizza. 🍕 The internet was filled with good reviews about the "new" Domino's. Domino's didn't just change their pizza. They changed how people thought about them. They showed they were willing to listen and get better. It was a risky thing to do, but it worked. This is what is all about: not being afraid to say you're wrong, making big changes, and doing what your customers really want. #BusinessGrowth #ThinkingBig #digitalmarketing #Successstories

From Cardboard to Culinary Comeback: The Domino's Turnaround Tale 🍕 In 2009, Domino's faced a cheesy crisis. Their pizza was called "cardboard" by customers, and Brand Keys ranked their taste tied last with Chuck E. Cheese. Even Domino's own consumer tests showed people liked their pizza less when they knew the brand. Instead of defensive damage control, Domino's did something revolutionary: They agreed. They launched a brutally honest campaign admitting their pizza needed help. Then they overhauled their recipe, embraced technology (hello, Pizza Tracker!), and reimagined the customer experience. The result? Skyrocketing sales and stock prices, transforming Domino's into the world's largest pizza company. The lesson? Sometimes, the secret sauce is a mix of humility, transparency, and willingness to change.

💥 What do McDonald's fries and Whole Foods Market's Chantilly Cake have in common? 🍟🍰 A sudden factory shutdown for McDonald’s fries echoes Whole Foods's backlash after tweaking its beloved Chantilly Cake. Both are prime examples of shrinkflation in action—a subtle reduction in portion sizes and quality that customers definitely notice! McDonald’s iconic fries could be next in line as a supplier abruptly closes its doors, potentially leading to increased prices. Similarly, Whole Foods’ decision to reduce the size and substitute fresh berries with compote in its Chantilly Cake slices didn’t go unnoticed, sparking customer frustration and a wave of negative feedback. The lesson? When customers feel shortchanged, they speak up! 🔥 Brands need to be extra mindful of changes, especially in today’s world, where customer reviews can build or break loyalty. How have you noticed shrinkflation affecting your favorite products? 🙋🏿♀️👇 #CustomerFeedback #Shrinkflation #McDonaldsFries #WholeFoods #BrandLoyalty #ConsumerPower

An iconic example of the Pratfall Effect in action is Domino's Pizza. In 2009, Domino's launched a bold marketing campaign called the “Pizza Turnaround.” In this campaign, Domino's openly admitted that their pizza had received negative feedback for being bland and poor in quality. They showcased real customer complaints and acknowledged their mistakes publicly. Key Points of the Campaign: Admission of Flaws: Domino's aired commercials featuring genuine customer critiques, acknowledging issues with their crust, sauce, and overall pizza quality. Commitment to Improvement: They promised significant changes, including a new and improved pizza recipe. Transparency: Domino’s documented their reform process, showing how they were actively working to enhance their product based on customer feedback. Outcome: Increased Relatability: By admitting their flaws, Domino’s appeared more authentic and relatable to consumers. Boost in Sales: The campaign led to a significant increase in sales and a revitalized brand image. Customer Trust: The honest approach helped rebuild customer trust and loyalty.

🍕 How Domino’s Turned Pizza Peril into Profit! 👉 I LOVE how brands can make a turnaround! In the late 2000's Domino's stock prices were dismal, growth was stagnant, and the glory days of the heatwave bag were long gone. Instead of sweeping their issues under the rug, Domino’s took a bold step. ✊ They owned up to their shortcomings, compiling all the disparaging comments about their pizza and delivery service from the internet. The result? A campaign dubbed the “Pizza Turnaround” that grabbed attention and sparked conversation. With humility and sincerity, Domino’s acknowledged their flaws, promising a pizza revolution. And boy, did they deliver! 🍕 They revamped their pizza and service, and with subsequent commercials showing employees seeking redemption from internet naysayers, they won hearts and stomachs alike. Fast forward to today, and Domino’s isn't just surviving—it's thriving! 🌟 With a clear plan of action, embracing technology, and a commitment to transparency, they've become the world's second-largest pizza chain, delivering in 30 minutes or less in over 80 countries. The Domino's Pizza Turnaround isn't just a lesson in PR—it's a story of resilience, redemption, and delicious success! 🙌 #Pizza #Branding #marketing #SuccessStory #Rebrand
