I’m sure you’re beginning to pick up on the breaking news about Homebase and their potential collapse into administration. We’re following the news very closely and have been in touch with Homebase to get the full story. It looks at this stage that The Range is finalising a takeover deal that will result in as many as 70 stores and almost 1,600 jobs being saved. Chris Dawson is apparently also in talks to acquire the 40-year-old Homebase brand and its website in a transaction worth around £30m. Confirmation of the purchase of the Homebase brand, IP and up to 70 stores is in the latest news here - https://lnkd.in/evef9Gg8 Out thoughts go out to the Homebase store and head office teams at this tough time. #retail #retailnews #administration

Such a sad post to read. Most of my retail career was spent with Homebase , some 23 years , working with some incredibly talented people who were truly supportive in my development. My thoughts with all the colleagues in store and the Support Centre and if I can help anyone who may be affected then reach out.

This is so sad. Worked at Homebase for most of my 20's, learning about high standards, customer service and even picking up a couple of qualifications along the way. I worked with a great team. It's also where I met my husband and my best mate. It will always have a place in my heart. Ruislip 093 ❤️ Thoughts are with the teams affected.

Loved my time with Homebase. Excellent senior team to work with and a hard working enthusiastic group of folk in the stores. I was so pleased that there was a revival post the disasterous Bunnings acquisition and trust that the Brand will survive and displaced employees will be properly looked after. Thinking of them all today.

Some of the best years of my life were spent in two stints at Homebase over 9 years. Some very dear friends and ex-colleagues have lost their roles and my heart goes out to them.

Very sad post to read Steve - thoughts are with the Homebase team and suppliers etc that will be impacted. Spent a good few (3) years there over the HRG, Bunnings and Hilco chapters.

Sad news. I loved my time working with the marketing team there, and my thoughts are with everyone affected.

This is really sad news (I started my buying career here and a brand dear to my heart) Lots of great people will be impacted, hoping for the best outcome all round.

Sorry to hear this news

Bloody sad but at least The Range would be good custodians of the brand.

Really sad news and not befitting of the energy and effort that’s been put into the brand post Bunnings. Those immortal words from Bunnings all those years back at the NEC - ‘we’ll teach you brits how to do retail’ always come back to me when I see stories like this. Absolutely ruined the business then sailed back with their tails between their legs
