Marketing, PR - Architecture & Design at Gensler India | Bauhausler, Design Research & writing, AI writing, PR for Architects, Real Estate, Hospitality, Luxury, Lifestyle | [email protected]
I’ve moved through 8 jobs in 10 years—and I’m 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 happy about it! Now, don’t start doing the math. Let me explain. 😄 This morning’s metro ride had me in a state of retrospection. I gave myself a well-deserved pat on the back. None of this would have been conceivable without that one discerning External Design Juror at #SPA Vijayawada in 2014. He astutely pointed out my knack for communicating design and #architecture over actually designing buildings. Maybe he was being a tad critical, but it sparked something profound. Back then, architectural writing or #communications were practically non-existent in India. I vividly remember pitching myself to companies that had no pre-existing roles for someone like me. There were no established paths, but curiosity and a smidgen of audacity? That’s a potent combination! After all, I had nothing to lose. From Zingy Homes to Auroville Radio, Directorate of Urban Land Transport, Venkataramanan Associates, Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau (yes, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 #Bauhaus), Kochi Biennale Foundation - India, Epistle, and now Gensler—it’s been an adventure! In all honesty, my mental peace and financial graphs are looking better than ever. What began for an Architect from design writing unfurled into #research, #designPR, social media, curation, and now, marketing design and designers. A bit of everything! And that mix, also being an architect? Pretty rare in this industry. I revel in being that “rare,” in forging my own trajectory, and in embracing the unconventional. #DesignJourney #ArchitecturalCommunications #AlliedDisciplines #MarketingDesign #Gensler

Happy to share this semester's project, which addresses structural and community issues in Government staff quarters through conservation architecture. Which I designed for my master's degree in conservation and regeneration at CEPT University under the guidance of Shreyank Khemalapure and Sonal Mithal ma’am. • Project: Residential Resurgence: Reviving Shared Spaces for Enhanced Living. • Location: Athwa Lines, Surat. • Objective: Improve living conditions and foster community well-being by addressing structural and spatial challenges. • Challenge: Overcome structural deterioration, limited space, and lack of communal areas. • Project Approach: Enhance individual living spaces and promote social interaction through architectural interventions. • Interventions: -Expand balconies for versatile use -Create shared community spaces -Improve drainage and ventilation systems. • Impact: Improved living spaces, enhanced social cohesion, comfort, and structural resilience. This project involved site-level interventions which was done by a group of three (myself, Ar. Richa Patki and Aayush Dhagat) while the interventions on the Block J building were completed solely by me as my academic project at CEPT University. #ConservationArchitecture #UrbanRevitalization #CommunityWellBeing #HousingImprovement #Surat #SustainableDesign #Ahmedabad #ArchitecturalIntervention #SocialCohesion #UrbanDevelopment #ResilientLiving #StudentProject #CEPTUniversity #AffordableHousing #StructuralIntegrity #InclusiveDesign #CommunitySpaces #Athwalines

At Rane Polytechnic Technical Campus - India, we turned challenges into opportunities, designing a space that harmonizes with nature while serving the community’s educational aspirations. We completed the Rane Polytechnic College in Tamil Nadu in 2010, a project that represents our 3 C's philosophy and a CSR Initiative Here‘s how we approached this project to ensure we use natural ventilation and sustainable materials to create spaces that enhance comfort and save energy. ✅Climate: ● Leveraged the southwest monsoon winds to naturally ventilate classrooms. ● Optimized natural sunlight for energy-efficient lighting throughout the building. ● Introduced heavy vegetation to reduce the temperature and improve the site’s microclimate. ✅Concept: ● Sunshades, being one of the fundamental elements of a building, were a key focus for us. We introduced louvres as sunshades to address the sun. The façade was detached into brick columns from the exterior walls, and the exposed brickwork gives the building an institutional look. ● Positioned classrooms along the north-south axis for maximum ventilation and lighting. ● Ensured easy accessibility and visibility to key amenities like the library and labs. ● Designed interactive spaces, including courtyards and the vegetated amphitheatre, blending functionality and thoughtful design elements like brise soleil and pergolas. ✅Context: ● Focused on a community-driven CSR initiative to provide educational and job opportunities for local youth in Trichy. ● The central nucleus is celebrated with a garden on all sides and water elements aligned with the primary wind direction to enhance cooling. ● Landscape features are interwoven within the design: pergolas, secondary walls with exposed brickwork pillars, and landscaped areas between pillars and Exterior walls. Want to know how the success ratio increases when the focus is on efficient criteria like Climate, concept, and context? DM us to know more #SustainableDesign #CSR #Education

The design journey, from the drawing board to a bustling construction site, is never straightforward. While meticulous planning may minimise errors, the process remains a complex task. Terra in Gwalior was no exception. It was a journey of challenges and triumphs. It required constant attention and adaptability, from the initial sketches to seeing the site take shape. Looking back, what stands out most is the dedication of our team in transforming raw materials into a space that embodied our vision and hard work. In traditional Vastu Shastra, Aayaadi refers to measurements or dimensions, which are considered essential for creating harmonious living spaces. These dimensions are based on mathematical calculations and are believed to have a significant impact on the energy flow within a building and the well-being of its occupants. Individuals who have experienced positive outcomes from applying Aayaadi Vaastu principles in their lives genuinely believe that it is the "master key of all" for creating harmonious living spaces.

Continuing our discussion on the architectural approach—the 3 C's: Climate, Context, and Concept As Shanmugam Associates recently completed Phase 1 of Vidhyashram International School - India in Jodhpur, I'd like to share a small GIF on the concept evolution, which clearly illustrates the thought process behind the school design using the 3 C's. This visual representation reflects on how our design evolved from initial ideas to the final output, which is always guided by our core principles: 1. Climate considerations shaped the building's form to optimize natural ventilation and shading. 2. Context approach made us use local materials that reflect Jodhpur's rich heritage. 3. Our concept with these elements together, resulted in a design that's both functional and culturally significant. This GIF shows when these principles come together, leading to a school that's not just a building, but a learning environment which is deeply rooted in its local culture. I believe that this visual journey offers valuable insights in SA’s design approach. It showcases how theoretical principles transform into tangible architecture that serves its users and respects its environment. We're always eager to discuss how our 3 C's approach can benefit various projects. DM us to know more about how we bring your ideas to life. #Architecture #DesignProcess #SustainableDesign #EducationalSpaces

Zugarewadi chi shala ( school ) A recently completed zilla parishad school in an adivasi pada on the outskirts of Thane city. The project is an extension which accommodates a few classrooms, a library, a laboratory, a kitchen, semi open hall and play spaces. The building adheres to basic orientation strategies, with roof overhangs to block off south sun and skylights towards north, generating ventilation and creating a sense of space. The materials and finishes used reflect the existing local typology. 1.Functional Expansion: The existing G + 1 structure with 4 classrooms needed an extension for 4 more classrooms, a library, a laboratory, a kitchen for meals, and a dining cum community space. 2.Integration with Existing Structure: Rather than altering the existing building significantly, the design utilizes the staircase as a connector between the old and new buildings. This preserves the integrity of the original structure. 3.Material Palette: Local materials such as exposed brickwork and kotah flooring are used, reflecting the local context and ensuring sustainability in construction. 4.Roof Overhang: A significant extension of the roof overhang on the southwest side (front entry side) protects the building from harsh sunlight and heavy monsoon rains, enhancing comfort and durability. 5.Multi-functional Dining Space: The dining space is designed as an open area with a roof, serving as a gathering space during school hours, a dining area in the afternoon, and a play space after school. It also doubles as a venue for social functions for the local villagers, promoting community engagement. 6.Visual Integration: The old and new buildings are visually integrated by coloring the existing structure in a shade that matches the exposed brickwork of the new extension. This approach creates a cohesive appearance, making the entire complex appear as one unified building. Overall, the design not only meets the functional requirements of the school but also considers the broader community needs and environmental factors, enhancing both usability and sustainability in the local context of Zugarewadi #CommunityDevelopment #Education #SustainableDesign

Today we were invited for presentation of upcoming new launch in hinjewadi phase 2 by Kohinoor Group Pune . As kohinoor has a great legacy and experience of more than 40 years in Real estate Market. As brand kohinoor has always delivered a good quality of project and before time possession, that creates a good trust in client for the developer. Recently one of my friend had booked an apartment in there previous launched project Famville which is just 100 m from this new launch, he had almost seen 20-30 projects in west pune, from hinjewadi to mamurdi almost every project he had checked out and atlast when he checked out famville, he liked the location , layout and many much things but the main thing that attracted him the kind of legacy kohinoor group has , its remarkable. Let me tell you about the new launch by them and what i personally liked in this: This location is in hinjewadi phase 2, which is almost going to be get developed by kohinoor group only as they have majority of land parcel there and already they have 3 projects in this area. Within 3 km you can access 3-4 metro station were the nearest metro station is just 300 meters. International restaurant outlets nearby like KFC , Domino's , McDonald's , Haldiram's and many more. Its complete residential area having a good developers societies nearby like VilasJavdekarHappinessStreet, Kohinoor Group Pune , Mittal Brothers Pvt Ltd and more. Ryan International School is just on walking distance from the project and also the main highlight the entire area is surrounded by hills which gives it a scenic views. Grand highstreet mall is just 1 km Specially for the person who are working in IT industry can checkout it as there ideal home. Currently i am seeing developer has few projects which have proper rectangular or square shape land parcel, where this project stands out in them. This project is exclusive 2 and 3 BHK premium apartments having a land marcel of 13.5 acres with only 12 tower of 25 storey and the main USP is that commercial stores for daily necessities are just below the tower which is on main road. This project has no JV, no litigation and no MAHADA as its near TOD area. Also this project is constructed in Alu-form technology construction, where they are using 55 mm for construction and also i found a new thing that there is one chemical which is used on mivan wall before applying gypsum, it is named as bondit chemical. It was a wonderful and helpful presentation for us, we are looking for a great business in there new launch. Thanks to entire Kohinoor Group Pune to invite us. Vishal Rajput and Ashish Aich helped us for the project orientation. Our champion leader Ikram Siddique has companied me for the presentation

STORY TELLING - TOPIC शब्द - WORD The choice of words in communication is crucial. Words carry emotions and feelings; they can inspire or harm. It's essential to learn how to manage our mental health in the face of words from society, community, and family. Understanding this is important. We recently conducted a storytelling project focused on the power of words. The storyteller shared a story from a book, after which participants were invited to share their feelings and respond to our questions. The audience highly appreciated the experience. story Teller - #Minal Kondawar #Architect #Interior designer #Kalpan interior #Nagpur We have organised this project on our community platform, WAM - it's a global group. link to listen https://lnkd.in/duk_XEtj
