This round was led by World Fund, Europe’s top climate VC, with additional participation from Project A Ventures, Vsquared Ventures, Andreas Kupke, Schwarz Holding, and InnovationQuarter. VÆRIDION is on a mission to make 𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗼-𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 an affordable and everyday reality. The funds raised, alongside €𝟭.𝟰 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 from Bavarian and German administrations, will be used to scale operations, expand commercially, and hire key talent. Their vision? To offer flights priced similarly to first-class high-speed rail tickets, launching in 2030. As global aviation demand is set to more than double by 2040, the regional aviation market presents a huge opportunity to decarbonize the sector. VÆRIDION is leading the charge with the 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿, a zero-emission aircraft designed to provide enhanced regional connectivity, setting a new standard for sustainable, energy-efficient aviation. Ivor van Dartel, CEO and Co-Founder, shared: "With our new funding, we are accelerating our development and preparing for prototype flights in 2027. We are not only committed to decarbonizing short-haul flights across Europe but also to making air travel more sustainable at a competitive price." Martijn de Blaey, Senior Investment Manager at InnovationQuarter, added: “VÆRIDION’s new subsidiary in Delft strengthens its position in the Aerospace Delta, supported by TU Delft’s top-ranked aerospace engineering faculty. This investment is a step forward in the sustainable aviation journey." 🌍✈️ Early next year, we will take you on a journey into the story of Vaeridion – how did the initial idea emerge, and what drives them to grow?
