Today, we officially launched BMW TechWorks Romania, a joint venture with BMW Group that marks a significant milestone in our journey toward digital transformation and innovation. Driven by the combined strengths of NTT DATA Romania and BMW Group, with the objective of becoming a reference for the digital transformation of the BMW Group’s industrial ecosystem, BMW TechWorks Romania will play a pivotal role in developing key IT projects across Europe, driving dynamic growth, and fostering innovation. This collaboration is a testament to the strong and enduring partnership between NTT DATA Romania and BMW Group. It embodies our shared vision of driving the future of the automotive industry through digital transformation. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our German partners at BMW for their trust in NTT DATA Romania and our IT center of performance here in Cluj-Napoca. It is with a high measure of responsibility and honor that we received this mission. After more than 30 years of shared collaboration within multiple projects, here comes a long-awaited milestone: a shared company, with a shared vision: that of contributing to the digital transformation and innovation of the BMW Group ecosystem. I also thank everyone on the team whose dedication and effort have turned this project into a reality. Your unwavering support and shared vision have been instrumental in bringing this venture to life. I see this project and journey as a generational one. The Europe-wide Drive2Transform project was recently launched under the coordination of R-Tech Group in #Regensburg!🚀 The initiative will better connect small and medium-sized companies in the automotive sector and actively shape the transition towards electrification, automation and new business models. It brings together nine experienced partners from eight European countries. 🌍 Networking opportunities like these are precisely the reason why Bavaria excels in cross-industry innovation. In the mobility sector, initiatives such as the Mobility & Logistics Cluster or the Digital Hub Mobility are also creating a platform for disruptive innovations. Projects such as the Hydrogen Centre. 🚀 Showcasing Collaboration at Brainport Industries Campus! 🚀 Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of hosting the Forum Digital Technologies at the Brainport Industries Campus, where we demonstrated how we’re pushing the boundaries of innovation through strong partnerships. @Tim Groenen and @Remy Fennet showcased how our joint efforts are driving advancements—especially with the help of the impressive demonstrator at the Brainport Digital Factory. By combining the expertise of KPN , Weidmüller Benelux, TNO-ESI, and Cordis SUITE, we’ve successfully upgraded an existing machine with 5G and edge computing capabilities! It’s an incredible example of how creativity, technology, and teamwork come together to tackle real-world industry challenges. What made it even more exciting was discovering that members of the German Forum Digital Technologies brought use cases strikingly similar to ours! It was an inspiring exchange of ideas and experiences, proving once again that innovation knows no borders. 🚀 Today we want to share some insights into our latest research on #Digital #Prototyping, a field that is reshaping how we approach product development and innovation. In our current study, we uncover the transformative power of Digital Prototyping across various industries: from automotive 🚗 to consumer electronics 📱, digital prototypes have accelerated development cycles, enhanced product quality, and reduced costs significantly. We develop and test a measurement tool for firm's digital prototyping capability, which comprises three dimensions: (1) virtualizing products/services, (2) processing of premature solutions, and (2) including feedback and iterating. 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the many participants in our survey. Your experiences have highlighted Digital Prototyping as not just a tool for designers and engineers, but as a strategic asset for entire organizations, fostering collaboration, creativity, and efficiency. True german 🇩🇪 heroes! #familyowned ⚡️Schunk's Award-Winning Innovation is based on that: The project "2D Grasping-Kit" was recognized by a high-caliber jury led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, president of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. This application kit includes a camera with a lens, an industrial PC, AI software, and an application-specific gripper. The innovation lies in the generic, AI-based modeling of part variances and the transfer to a smaller training dataset, which reduces learning times for recognition. The user-friendly interface allows for the reliable handling of various randomly arranged parts from a conveyor belt, tray, or staging table – even under changing light, color, or background conditions.
