One in four humans on the planet will be mobile gamers this year, and the battle is on to win and retain their long-term player loyalty, a new study says. The evolution of the mobile gaming landscape has brought with it a new type of mobile gamer, and publishers must understand them to establish player trust, according to a whitepaper from TikTok and National Research Group It says 73% of modern gamers want to play a game that understands them as a player, while 71% prefer a game that comes from a brand they trust. The report says success in this new landscape revolves around three core pillars: establishing cultural relevance, building connections with players and fostering a sense of community.
