To keep Earth within its planetary boundaries, we need to implement three key changes: adopt sustainable farming practices, reduce food waste and embrace plant-based diets. Here’s how we’re playing our part and turning our vision into data-driven solutions. We’re developing practical solutions to help everyone in the agrifood sector—from farmers and food producers to consumers—transition to a sustainable future. By making our knowledge and tools freely accessible, we aim to drive lasting change that benefits both current and future generations. Through sustainable farming practices like crop rotation, conservation tillage, and agroforestry, we’re strengthening biodiversity and ecosystem resilience. We’re developing practical solutions that will support farmers in moving from conventional farming methods to sustainable practices, designed for large-scale production. Across our 3,700 hectares of organically certified fields, we produce over 8,700 tons of crops annually—proving that sustainable farming works without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, while still maintaining healthy soil and effective pest control. We understand changing diets is tough in today’s fast-paced world. That’s why we created Njamito—a healthy, organic meal for busy lifestyles. Following its success in Slovenia, we’re now expanding to help food companies create climate-friendly products that benefit both people and the planet. Our goal is to make a lasting impact at every level of the food chain. Want to learn how transforming our food system can safeguard Earth's planetary boundaries? In celebration of World Environment Day, themed “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,” we highlight our dedication to environmental sustainability through three key initiatives: 1. Supporting Organic and Sustainable Farming We partner with local farmers who use natural fertilizers, avoid synthetic pesticides, and implement crop rotation. These practices maintain soil health, conserve water, and reduce carbon footprints, producing healthier food and preserving biodiversity. 2. Utilizing Sustainable Grains At PachaMama foods, we incorporate sustainable grains like Fonio and finger millets into our products. These grains are not only nutritious but also resilient to harsh growing conditions, making them ideal for combating desertification and supporting sustainable agriculture. By promoting the use of these indigenous grains, we help preserve traditional farming methods and ensure food security. 3. Promoting Local Food Systems By sourcing ingredients from nearby farmers, we reduce carbon emissions and support the local economy. This approach ensures fresh, nutritious products and fosters a resilient, self-sufficient food system. By incorporating these initiatives into our core processes, we strive to make a positive impact on our planet and community.
