Creating an online course has never been easier with just three essential tools: 1️⃣Mobile Phone for Recording Your smartphone is a powerful tool for capturing high-quality video and audio. With the right lighting and a quiet environment, you can create professional-looking content without needing expensive equipment. 2️⃣ Laptop for Editing Once you've recorded your content, your laptop becomes your editing studio. Use software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or even free options like DaVinci Resolve to polish your videos, add graphics, and ensure your course looks top-notch. 3️⃣Website to Host Your Course Finally, you'll need a platform to host your course. Websites like Teachable, Thinkific, or even your own custom site can provide a seamless experience for your students, offering easy access to your content and a professional presentation. Need help getting started? I'm here to support you every step of the way. From tech setup to course design, I can handle the heavy lifting so you can focus on creating great content. Interested? 🎥📚 Just wrapped up a few 3-minute video quizzes for a Design Fundamentals course. Here’s the streamlined process I used: 📝 Script: Drafted in @Microsoft Word. 📄 Text Version: Created a Canvas Page for the text-only version. 🎨 Graphics: Designed themed visuals in @Canva. 🎙️ Voiceover: Used @Adobe Captivate for text-to-speech. ✂️ Video Creation: Edited and encoded in @Adobe Premiere Pro. 📹 Hosting: Uploaded to @YouTube with closed captions. 🎓 Quiz: Embedded in Canvas Studio and added questions with video and captions. Did this process 5 times. Although it was a huge investment of time, they will definitely pay off! 🚀💪 #DesignFundamentals #VideoQuiz #EdTech #ContentCreation #Multimedia #DesignJunkie

Just finished my Class Project from Bring Your Own Laptop's PremierePro Course. I learned basic, but essential, skills like reviewing footage, cutting, transitions, lower thirds, color correction, adjusting sound levels and properly exporting mp4s. Highly Recommend this course for video editing beginners! #premierepro

𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞? I really like using Rise for quick courses—its clean design and easy setup make it perfect for building content. But sometimes I want a little more personalization to break away from that “one-size-fits-all” feel. That’s where Storyline comes in. One of my favorite ways to enhance a course is by creating custom interactions—like sliding images or interactive graphics—in Storyline and embedding them right into Rise. It lets me add knowledge checks or custom blocks that still feel interactive, sleek, and modern. I use this approach when I want something unique without overcomplicating the build or extending the timeline with a SL course. But I’m curious—what about you? When do you feel it’s worth adding in those custom blocks or interactions? Are you finding they make a difference in your designs? I’d love to hear what others are doing and get a gauge on how you’re using these elements to keep things fresh and engaging. #InstructionalDesign #eLearning #Rise #Storyline

When creating a learning tool, consider using engaging graphics and audio to elevate your content and keep your audience engaged. Ensure your audio is high-quality and user-controlled. Graphics should be clean and simple by utilizing white space and a small color palette. After watching a video on masking by Nejc Žorga Dulmin, I decided to try it out in a simple interactive. In my example, the text appears to come from behind a tree, and when you click on the squirrel, it runs behind the trees. Have you ever used a masking effect like this in your design? Share your thoughts in the comments below! Link to the interactive in the comments. #elearningdeveloper #InstructionalDesign #LearningAndDevelopment #eLearningDevelopment #InnovationInEducation #ArticulateStoryline #instructionaldesigner #articulate360 #ep31 ------ 👋 Hi, I'm Amy, an instructional designer with over 15 years of experience. If you are an educator, or not, and you have been known to create screen recordings using Screencastify or some other add on in order to create tutorials and do not like the lack of free and large storage options consider using OBS Studio with a combo of Clipchamp. It is a little bit of a learning how to use the both and may not be as user friendly, but they are free. The storage is only limited to the hard drive, SSD or other forms a storage you have available. If you are creating presentations on Slides or Powerpoint and can't exactly find a gif you are looking for to add to your powerpoint? Create one yourself. I wanted to show scrolling on Indeed for a tech literacy class and what the job search page looks like. So I used OBS to screen record. Then I exported the video a gif creator website such as https://lnkd.in/e87AR622 and then choose the speed, length and resolution I wanted for the gif. Is it too many extra steps? Maybe for some, but for me it is easier to create a gif than to search for one that fits what I am doing as a lesson. I am so quick with it now, it takes me a few minutes per gif I create. Same goes for getting screenshots and images for directions on how to use websites, sign up, etc. My favorite key combo is Windows Logo + Shift + S to give me that option to select the entire screen, the browser page or a portion of the screen to screen shot. On a Mac and want to do this? The combo I believe is Shift + Command + 5 or Shift + Command + 3. Both Windows and Mac have a screenshot tool you can search from the bar or launchpad. Windows it is called Snipping Tool and for the Mac it is called Screenshot. This may have been information most people know and didn't need to be reminded of. This may have been information most people know, but didn't think about when creating lessons or presentations. Or this may not be information people know about all. In the habit of helping others, or at least attempting to help, this is a #resource. Use it however you want to. 😃 #lessoncreation #curriculumdevelopment #education #educators #presentationtips #gifcreator
