How effective have you been with your #OKRs this quarter? When you run your OKR Retrospective and review your progress over the quarter it is likely there may be some metrics that you didn't reach. If so, it's important to have the discussion with the team, if these were the right metrics to have chosen - that's the beauty of having a Psychologically safe team right? DId you pick leading or lagging metrics? It can be a challenge, when your chosen key result is slow moving or has a binary outcome (you either achieved it or not). People often mix up lead status with lifecycle stage. Firstly, let me clarify that they are not mutually exclusive; they complement each other. Secondly, you don't have to stick with the default values in HubSpot – you can customise them according to your needs. Lastly, lead status doesn't have to match at the contact and company levels; they can be different yet still synchronised. Lead Status aims to show the state of a lead from a sales perspective. HubSpot often defines it as describing the sub-stages within a Sales Qualified Lead lifecycle stage. This brings up another question: who owns or is responsible for this property? Marketing or Sales? While I don't mean who customises it in the CRM, it's usually Sales, though sometimes Marketing teams do take the lead (and do sales stuff). The introduction of the new LEAD Object in prospecting has added to the confusion, but that's a topic for another time.
