We are thrilled to announce that Re Sustainability Limited, Asia’s leading integrated sustainability solutions provider, has partnered with Sharrp Ventures | Harsh Mariwala Investment Office to launch a groundbreaking Plastics Circularity Initiative in Hyderabad and Raipur. This first-of-its-kind initiative aims to address one of the most pressing challenges in the #FMCG industry—sourcing high-quality recycled polyolefins—while advancing our mission of creating a self-sustaining, zero-waste-to-landfill, circular economy. Key Highlights: ✅ 32,000 tonnes of plastic waste will be recycled annually. ✅ Reduction of 15,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. ✅ Over 9,000 tonnes of high-quality recycled polymers will be produced for FMCG and other industries. ✅ Providing jobs for 370+ people in the first phase, with 75% of the workforce targeted to be women. ✅ Empowering local communities through effective waste segregation and social inclusion initiatives. This collaboration, catalyzed by the #Marico Innovation Foundation (MIF), represents a significant step towards a circular economy, enabling nearly 100% diversion of dry waste from landfills. Facilities in Hyderabad and Raipur are set to be operational by early FY26, with plans to scale across India and beyond. Ved Krishna’s journey began with a vision passed down from his father, K K Jhunjhunwala, who in 1981 started Pakka Limited with the dream of creating paper from sugarcane waste. What began as a humble paper mill soon faced challenges, and when Ved returned from studying sports management in London in 1999, he found the business struggling. Instead of following the same path, he took a bold step to transform the company. Driven by his commitment to sustainability, he shifted Pakka Limited’s focus to eco-friendly, compostable packaging. In 2014, Ved introduced Chuk, a 100% biodegradable line of tableware made from sugarcane bagasse, offering a greener alternative to plastic. But Ved didn’t stop at just products — he wanted the entire process to be sustainable. The Pakka Limited factory in Ayodhya, UP, now runs on rice husk-powered energy, generating its own electricity, reducing waste, and lowering its carbon footprint. Today, the company leads the charge for a circular economy in India, offering packaging solutions that protect the planet while reshaping industry norms.
