In the latest Contemporary India Forum Quarterly Review issue, I analyse Modi 3.0 foreign policy and India-Japan relations, arguing that the relationship will likely progress under Modi 3.0 and with a new PM in Japan. However, the intensity of the relationship developed during the Shinzo Abe era is unlikely to return. https://lnkd.in/gBhaC4yS

"Recognizing China as a principal geoeconomic challenge, Ambassador Sikri offers us a different lens of viewing China, for instance, it's in the Eurasian character of China, its control of Tibet, where major security challenges for India lie, not only as an East Asian country." I recently read Ambassador Rajiv Sikri's work "Strategic Conundrums : Reshaping India's Foreign Policy". In my capacity as a research analyst with Covering China, of THE GEOSTRATA , I have reviewed the book which has been posted on its website. A nation that doesn't honour its past has no future' 🇮🇳THE INDIA WAY🇮🇳 Probably the first book I've read on foreign policy and geopolitics, and the bar has definitely been set high. Written by the ever-inspiring genius that is Mr. S Jaishankar, the external affairs minister of India, this books dives into the evolution of India and its foreign policy over time and how our relations with other nations has been shaped over the years. Mr. S Jaishankar goes into detail on some of our major policies regarding national allies as well as potential allies in the future and how our policies will be shaped as a result. He intricately weaves in international events, how India has reacted to them and what India can learn to become a more prosperous nation. Some of the most eye-opening lessons were that of India's role in leading the south asian countries, how close ties with nations such as Japan and Australia are pivotal, and most importantly how India's position as a neutral nation needs to be approached in this new era of technology, trade, and tensions Truly a wonderful book for any person looking to learn more about India as a nation or about the minute details of foreign policy and their implications #india #foreignpolicy

Book Review by Banditarani Behera (November 29, 2024) "The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World" A central theme of the book is his assertion that India must chart its path—crafting indigenous narratives, methodologies, and solutions to global challenges—rather than relying on borrowed paradigms or succumbing to external pressures. Rather than purely descriptive, his conceptual approach adds depth and intellectual rigour, elevating the work as a guide to understanding India's foreign policy. Each chapter offers distinct perspectives and dimensions, enriching the reader's understanding of India's diplomatic strategies and global positioning in a rapidly transforming world.
