It's not easy jumping back into the conference game. For Hampton Roads DevFest, we've been trying to keep attendees' costs as low as possible. Heck, we've even tried to keep sponsor costs low, too. Conventions are back! ⛈ The boardgame industry has been going through rough times over the last two years, with big players restructuring (Hasbro, Asmodée) and many small publishers going out of business. ❕ 2024 conventions show a surge of attendance from gamers and publishers alike: UKGE broke previous year record with 39,000 visitors and almost 700 exhibitors. Meanwhile Essen Spiel just announced that 2024 show is already fully booked for exhibitors, and considers opening new halls next year! ❓ Is this the sign of the market picking-up again or are publishers struggling for more visibility and exposure in a tighter market? Cannot wait to see what GenCon and Essen Spiel 2024 will turn out to be!
