There are a group of people who I have built relationships with in the #videogameindustry and when they speak, I listen carefully. I don't always agree with them, but I trust their judgment, their experience and their passion. Sheloman Byrd is firmly in that group of people. Hell, he might be the first to enter that group as he was one of my first colleagues when I started working in #videogames. If you're building live service titles - start a conversation with him sooner than later. #gamepublishing #gamedevelopment #gamemarketing

I welcome more quality competitors in the instant games sector. Let me explain what I mean. After visiting a lot of industry events, I noticed two things: 1. The interest in our niche is growing. It might push game providers to create more instant games and result in innovations and fresh ideas. I am very eager to see that. 2. The quality of games is yet to reach a high level. I saw people duplicating each other's content and only tweaking design elements. That's the tendency we have to get rid of. Instant games niche has to be more active and innovation-focused. There will be games that are always popular but we need some disruptions. That's why I'm all for more competition. We at Turbo Games need to flex our muscles. #turbostars #turboplatform #turbogames #turbosportsbook #igamingsolutions #instantgames

Casual games are currently more prominent than many big industry games due to their creative freedom, lower costs, and unique themes, which resonate with players seeking fresh experiences. Unlike large studios, indie developers can take risks with gameplay mechanics and storytelling, often resulting in innovative titles that stand out. The rise of digital distribution platforms and streaming has further amplified their reach, while the direct engagement between developers and communities builds a sense of authenticity and player investment. As a result, indie games often attract more attention and praise, even without the vast resources of AAA studios.

Really wondering how indie games get the publicity they do. Obviously there’s a level of quality to be seen throughout these special circumstances- like Hades, Enshrouded, Stardew Valley, Etc. But what really gets them out front? Is it the publisher? Is it built on the relationship these developers have with the Early Access Communities they built? Is it just pure luck? Is it understanding trends? Or is it something else entirely? I’m interested in what the thoughts are-either through industry experience, statistics, or through stories you’ve seen. #indiegames #independentstudios #thoughts #wttwgames #gamestrends #gamesindustry

Summer Game Fest Takeaways 🏝️ With the release of my personal project GameAPI (check it out below), I’m excited to share some more of my games industry musings here on LinkedIn! To begin, let’s dive into my main takeaways from last week’s showcase. 👾 Indie Publishing From the Among Us creators announcing their new indie publisher Outersloth to Blumhouse's suite of new indie horror games, it was refreshing to see indie games getting the spotlight and funding throughout the presentation! 🎞 Cross-Media IPs and franchises from film and television have crossed over into gaming for years, however it was amazing to begin seeing film and television production companies begin to cross over into games as well, most notably with Blumhouse. 🌐 Multiplatform It was fascinating to see LEGO Horizon Adventures, a Sony IP, be announced with a release to Nintendo Switch as an interesting new case of key console makers releasing software containing their own franchises on other platforms. Did you catch up on any of the gaming presentations last week? What were favorite reveals or takeaways? --- If you’d like to explore a growing and customizable dashboard of games industry history, check out my GameAPI Dashboard below! https://lnkd.in/gJu4KuPd ⬅️ #gamesindustry #games #summergamefest #nintendo #gamesjournalism #apis
