In my last post, I highlighted some amazing organizations dedicated to accessibility. This week, I'm thrilled to continue with a shout-out to: Tavern Tale Studio, based in Brazil, is dedicated to creating exceptional games that cater to a diverse audience. Their commitment to inclusivity was highlighted when we met them through gamescom latam. One of their notable achievements is MACE: Mapinguari’s Temple, where accessibility features were inspired and tested by a team member. This emphasis on accessibility not only enhances gameplay but also fosters a more inclusive gaming community. Inclusion is close to Aktion Mensch e.V. 's heart. We connected due to our shared efforts. While not solely focused on gaming, they support up to 1,000 social projects monthly, including those related to games. Their focus is on a self-determined life for people with disabilities and equal opportunities for children and young people. They implement effective projects, develop campaigns, and support social projects every month. Last year, Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur hosted a one-day conference on accessibility in gaming, and we were proud to participate. This work is pivotal in advancing the conversation around accessibility in the gaming industry. Check out their impactful work here: https://lnkd.in/dnN28pvX Together, these organizations are making strides towards a more inclusive and accessible world and we're excited to collaborate and learn from them. #AccessibleGaming #GameAccessibility #accessibility #Accessibility #InclusiveGaming #TavernTaleStudio #AktionMensch #StiftungDigitaleSpielekultur Join Johanna Janiszewski from Tiny Crocodile Studios UG and me on our journey to improve accessibility in games! Stay tuned for weekly posts. Do you know more organizations working toward accessibility in gaming? Let us know in the comments! 🎮✨

🎥 Big News: My First YouTube Video Is Live! 🔥 🔥 🔥 I’m thrilled (and a little nervous) to share the very first video on my YouTube channel: "Toronto Game Expo 2024: Indie Games, How They’re Marketed and Fun!" 🕹️🎉 This video is a deep dive into the incredible world of indie games showcased at the Toronto Game Expo 2024. I had the privilege of interviewing some amazing professionals who are shaping the gaming industry: 💡 Lisa Mior from Whitethorn Games, who shared insights about publishing inclusive, stress-free games like Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island and Slime Heroes! 💚 Joe Picknell, the creator of The Edge of Allegoria, with its unique green aesthetic and provocative tone! 🎵 Vladislav Grigorev and Jonathan Osmond from Billy's Cookies, whose game Make a Hit! blends music, puzzles, and retro vibes into an unforgettable experience! This project started as a class assignment for my Content Marketing course, taught by Rochelle Latinsky at George Brown College. Thank you, Rochelle, for designing such a practical and inspiring task. It’s been the spark for what I hope will grow into a full-fledged video blog about gaming and marketing ❤️🔥 🎮 A special shoutout to Danny S. from the School of Marketing at George Brown College, whose masterclass in October emphasized the importance of choosing your industry and representing yourself authentically. His advice encouraged me to focus on gaming marketing, and here I am, taking my first steps! 🎯 Looking forward to recording something similar on next MIGS! While I’m still getting used to being in front of the camera (spoiler: there are some funny moments where my nerves show 😂), this is a big milestone for me. If you love gaming or are curious about how indie developers market their creations, this is for you! Your support means the world to me, so feel free to like, comment, and share your thoughts. Let’s make this the start of something amazing! 🚀 #YouTubeLaunch #GamingMarketing #TorontoGameExpo2024 #IndieGames #ContentMarketing #GeorgeBrownCollege #MarketingJourney

Tomorrow (12.06.24), on the second Wednesday of the month (one fixed date for all cities), we will be celebrating the 11th anniversary of Pog(R)adajmy, which are meetings for gamers and game developers in Poland. I started these meetings in Warsaw exactly 11 years ago. I never expected that our community event would last this long. It's all because of the people - the individuals who joined the event and created their local community, as well as those who continued initiating the meetings every month (except for August, when we take a break) in their cities, and as of last year, even online. From one point of view, I am impressed by this, but from the second view, I had a feeling that we have a strong gaming community in Poland, and because of it, this event still goes on, and on. How long? It doesn't matter. What's important is that we still have our energy and the need to talk about video games every month in Poland. In June 2024, we are having discussions in 10 cities and hosting 1 online edition, adding up to exactly 11 - the symbolic number for the 11th anniversary, wow. Thank you to EVERYONE who is creating this event with me and our Pog(R)adajmy community. This is for you, this is for us. Let the gaming talk go on! PSX. Every city has its unique color. We have a tradition that in June - the month of our Anniversary - we try to wear clothes in the color of the local logo when we go to the meeting. You can guess from the picture which colors we have in the Pog(R)adajmy. #videogames #gamedev #gamers #polishgamedev #gamedevpl #gamesindustry #pogradajmy #gamingevent #community #networking

We’ve set a course for the future by bringing EVERSPACE 2 to Unreal Engine 5 in our Incursions Update, now released on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. In addition to new game content, bug fixes, and features, Incursions also adds togglable support for Lumen. The comparison video in the article, captured with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, shows EVERSPACE 2 locations with Lumen enabled and disabled to show what dynamic global illumination can do in our space game. According to figures shared by Eurostat last week, 55% of people in the EU aged 16 - 74 had at least basic overall digital skills. Furthermore, the disparities across the EU is large, ranging from 83% in the Netherlands to 28% in Romania. Video Games Europe supports Europe's Digital Decade #DigitalEU & the #EUDigitalEudcation, and highlights that video games, used appropriately, can increase children's digital skills and encourage them into technology training and careers!
