Our state-of-the-art AI technology doesn’t just mimic natural leg movements; it learns and adapts to the user's lifestyle and needs, offering unprecedented freedom and empowerment. Rad AI, a #startup enhancing #radiology efficiency, recently secured a $50 million Series B funding round led by Khosla Ventures, raising their total #capital to over $80 million. #Founded in 2018 by Jeff Chang and #entrepreneur Doktor Gurson, Rad AI #develops tools that #automate report generation for radiologists, reducing the time they spend on #documentation. This #solution is especially crucial given the ongoing #global shortage of #radiologists. The #company has pioneered the use of large #language models (#LLMs) in radiology since its inception, aligning with the early stages of #generative #AI #technology. Whilst at Western Sydney University we pushed hard to reimagine how we were delivering services, both student-facing and back office. We met resistance to changing the administrative processes and ultimately student experience. Why? Reasons cited were; we are too complex and have legislative and compliance obligations which make change too risky. Nonsense! If financial services, insurance and other sectors which are much more complex, compliance driven and risk sensitive can change so can higher education. It requires a change in leadership priorities, culture and mindset. It is no longer an option, rather a necessity. We need to drive costs down and radically improve student experience. And it starts with the student, not the technology. Diagnose the problem, define the solution and use tech to enable its delivery. #HEinnovation

In Q3-2024, companies who are driving innovations and pushing the thresholds of frontier technologies raised over a combined $8.1bn in funding. Key themes among others include: 1️⃣ AI is king with significant funding into AI companies across multiple sectors. We know OpenAI raised $6.6bn this week - however during the last quarter, companies like Safe Superintelligence Inc. raised ~$1bn and Cohere raised $500m. AI funding will continue to grow. 2️⃣ There were some notable Series A: Baichuan Intelligence, Skild AI, Superluminal Medicines Inc. raised $390m, $300m and $120m 3️⃣ Autonomous tech, Biotech and medicine, and energy solutions and decarbonisation also saw major fund raises.
