Startup PR Tip of the Week! Pitching can be fun if you do it right. *Set aside an hour for your first pitch, you'll probably get a few angles that you can work with this way. 1. Find an article in a media outlet that exemplifies what you want to see about your company in the same industry - Start with 1 outlet. 2. Start your pitch with a headline that will create interest and conversation - You should probably have about 2-3 options for this 3. Pitch the reporter how your company solves the unique industry challenge and 3 perspectives you can provide about the industry - Showcase your expertise. 4. Follow up on Wednesday with added value- The most critical part of the pitch is follow up. Set a reminder on your calendar or a boomerang in case you don't hear back. 5. Respond promptly - if/when you hear back, respond with relevant information in a timely manner. That's typically ASAP when it comes to journalistic span of attention or their deadlines. #media #pitching #PRtips #Startups
