This is about time wasters. I left the world of marketing agencies over 20 years ago. Thankfully, the ones I worked for were pretty good. But I know the tricks. And I've encountered many waste-of-time marketing agency practices that are dressed up as adding value. But they simply do not. I've listed 15 of them. You may know more? Here's the thing. Value or otherwise - one way or another - the client pays for them. And, worse? Most get in the way of cracking on and delivering the work. It turned 5 years of collaboration with one of my first clients. And, oh boy! That really makes me proud. Specially because 5 years ago everything was different: I didn’t have the expertise I have nowadays. I didn’t have the reach I have nowadays. I didn’t have the specialised team I have nowadays. But I did have (and keep having) a lot passion and motivation to deliver a high quality service. We all evolve, improve and I’m so glad I get to live this evolution with the clients who trusted me first. Currently, I keep managing their media campaigns and, in parellel, they ask me for advice on many levels from marketing, design and business strategies. That’s something I like to keep not only with clients, but with my team: I much rather a trusted, long lasting collaboration than a transactional and temporary relation. Quality over quantity, always.
