Can't believe it's almost the three year anniversary for the Gigaton newsletter! 🌟 We've researched 39 climate solutions, mapped 200+ startups, and sized a potential carbon emission reduction of 1,900 gigatons by 2050 (38x what we need). I've developed an inventory to help organize our research and help folks exploring or recruiting for roles in climate technology: - Find 200+ leads on early stage startups, growth startups, or corporations - Filter the solutions based on your criteria: 1) industry sector 2) type of organization (startups versus corporations), and 3) type of product (software, hardware, CPG, or deep tech) - Discover massive gigaton carbon emission potential solutions that you may never heard of - Learn about key market trends, challenges, and opportunities for innovation Inventory is here: https://bit.ly/3YyXqWo The Gigaton newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gE3Tad3i

Revenue Syndicate has funded 25 companies and deployed £1M+ in capital with 800+ members and 364 unique investments. A few things people might not know: Founders forget we're not a fund. We do not control or have any sway over the members. They pick what they invest in, how much, which founders and visions they back. We are there to be "gate keepers", we protect the community from being hounded with poor deal flow and irrelevant decks. Sure, not every deal we present is going to be for everyone but we've now got this down to a fine art for what works for the community. It's a community, we host events, talk about deals, connect members with founders or vice versa where we believe value can be added. We are partnered with a lot of VC firms / professional investors so we can help companies get additional funding (either initial tickets or follow-ons). They work with us because the community knows GTM inside and out. RS shares data and thoughts into why we're presenting a specific deal or founder from out our due diligence, market research and feedback from members. We curate information for experienced angels/investors as well as those in their early stages. A few companies we've funded: OpenAI, StackOne, Replicate Labs, Userled, Playter, Togather. And those are the ones we can talk about 😉. If you're a UK GTM expert (and can be or are an accredited investor) and want to check us out, apply below: https://lnkd.in/eiMEz4K7

Dare to Dream Big 💭 As a fresh computer science graduate, I experienced: Overwhelm with sales and business development activities 🛒 Lack of knowledge in non-technical business areas 🤯 Difficulty finding the right team and support 🤝 Years later, I'm leading a successful startup. 🚀 The difference now? A thriving, diverse team pushing boundaries. 🌟 Here's what this journey taught me about entrepreneurial triumph: Lesson #1: Mentorship is invaluable 🧭 As a techie, diving into sales felt like navigating uncharted waters. Mentorship provided the guidance I needed. Now, those lessons fuel our strategic decisions, highlighting the importance of mentorship. The difference? Confidence in business activities. 💼 Lesson #2: Collaboration over solo efforts 🤝 Initially, I shouldered every role. Meeting my co-founder broadened our capabilities. Now, our complementary skills drive growth and showcase the power of teamwork. The difference? Accelerated progress. ⏩ Lesson #3: Embrace learning from every source 📚 Even students offered unexpected insights. We maintain an open-minded culture for continuous improvement. The difference? A constantly evolving strategy. 🔄 Lesson #4: Social media isn't just noise 📱 Initially, digital platforms were overwhelming. Now, they're our launchpad for engagement, proving their strategic value. The difference? Enhanced visibility and customer connection. 🌐 Lesson #5: Startups foster unmatched growth opportunities 🌱 My early days in the startup world were uncertain but transformative. Now, being part of a vibrant startup, I see exponential personal and professional growth compared to the slower pace in MNCs. The difference? A closer-knit team achieving more in less time. ⏰ Summary: Mentorship is invaluable 🧭 Collaboration over solo efforts 🤝 Embrace learning from every source 📚 Social media isn't just noise 📱 Startups foster unmatched growth opportunities 🌱 Let's connect for more in-depth discussions on entrepreneurial challenges and triumphs. NYC founders - Pitch event for early stage founders happening this Monday, where you'll get to pitch Sherveen Mashayekhi and Jenny Fielding (Mg. Partner @ Everywhere Ventures, prev. MD @ Techstars NYC) and get invaluable feedback. (Invite text is from Sherveen Mashayekhi with permission to share) If you were with us last week for the early stage venture event, then you know how awesome the founder pitching + feedback was for the last half of that event. That's why Monday is a dedicated pitch event for seed and pre-seed founders. Jenny won't write anyone a check on the spot, but it's a chance to have her full attention in front of a room of supportive founders. Approved founders get 1 minute to concisely pitch their startup. Then, Jenny and Sherveen will deliver brutally honest feedback about the pitch and the concept itself. No need to prepare. This is about the pitch that already lives in your heart, head, and throat. It's practice, refinement, and a pitch to a check-writing VC. If you're an early stage founder in NYC, you cannot miss this opportunity. Sign up to pitch here. https://lnkd.in/gJngyuNd

In preparation for my next article, I would like to know what you would like to know regarding clarifying how you communicate and sell your product vision, or business vision.
Just as product teams create several prototypes before developing an app, storyboarding your pitch deck allows you to validate and refine your pitch concept. This is our approach at Sproutive Studio. https://lnkd.in/e8zDE5ir

Put simply, what we are looking to build in Chicago what they've built in Austin, Texas: A national security-focused consortium of technologists, researchers, new ventures, investors, and defense acquisitions officials committed to American leadership. We need your help on something. The U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting its Innovation Ecosystem Summit in November, and we'd like to host a discussion featuring Joseph Kopser, one of the leaders of Austin's defense industry community. Please consider clicking at this link, looking at the very top left of your screen, and voting for our proposed panel. --- Here's the summary: Austin, Texas, is seen by many as a model for mobilizing its venture community to engage the Department of Defense on technology challenges; indeed Army Futures Command has established its headquarters next door to Capital Factory, Austin’s flagship entrepreneurial support center. In 2023, more Department of Defense SBIR awards are sent to Austin than any other city. Austin companies received three times the number of SBIR awards as San Francisco. How can other regional economies replicate this extraordinary success? This proposed panel will engage Joseph Kopser, one of the founders and leaders of the Austin defense community, and other ecosystem buildings in a focused conversation on how to leverage public and private sector resources -- including research laboratories, nonprofit economic development organizations, university partners, state and local governments, corporate partners, capital management firms, federal agencies, and SBA-funded programs -- to build technologies and systems that serve the defense industrial base and American national security.
