It’s absolutely fine to highlight the inconsistency of the current approach to artificial intelligence concerning the issues of consciousness and free will.
However, let’s realize that this remains, at best, a merely intellectual and philosophical exercise.
Whether Federico Faggin is right or not, the practical fact is this: a tornado doesn’t need to be conscious to have an impact on the world.
Something that functionally has capabilities entirely similar to humans, but without some of their most important limitations, is in fact destined to destroy society as we know it.
Denying this based on the philosophy of consciousness seems to me like a waste of time we don’t have.

Okay, power is nothing without control -- but who's doing the controlling? Let's look at this point:
Governance:
- Ensure ethical and responsible use of AI.
- Protect data privacy and comply with regulations.
- Reduce bias in models for fairer and more transparent decisions.
Where are you going to find these angels to ensure ethical and responsible use of AI? Are you suggesting that the government should do so? And what should they do?
My point is this: Murder is already illegal, you don't need a special category for "AI murder." Fraud is already illegal, you don't need a special category for "AI fraud." Defamation is already illegal (though it probably shouldn't be), you don't need a special category for "AI defamation."
All of this pleading to government for "AI governance" by tech companies is simply this: regulatory capture. They have an incentive to either slow the pace of progress so they can catch up, or, if they are already on top, they keep competitors out.

- Potenziare la capacità decisionale strategica dell'azienda attraverso l'AI.

This is a highly valuable initiative by of #ICC as it provides an overview of the policy issues at stake when dealing with #AI#artificialintelligence, and then it moves onto considering several case studies about policies, position statements, initiatives of corporate organizations and other entities in this field.
In my view, particularly interesting is the part dealing with case-studies of policies implemented to tackle mis/disinformation as a societal and political problem with a potentially huge disruptive capacity. #misinformation and #disinformation (generally speaking the latter comes with intent and is more harmful than misinformation, that may the consequence of innocent negligence) are dramatically amplified and made more efficient by AI technologies. Hence the need to tackle such highly pernicious activities, which incidentally demonstrates how the principle of freedom of speech may not be twisted as one pleases, so as to make everyting equally good (or equally bad).

First of all we need to understand what "eye contact" means in terms of non verbal communication and wikipedia could introduce us into this topic

Then we can investigate when NVIDIA introduced this technology and what was their goal
Nvidia's ‘Eye Contact’ technology was released to the public on 12 January 2023. This feature was introduced as part of the version 1.4 update of Nvidia Broadcast, an application designed to improve real-time audio and video capabilities, primarily for streaming and video conferencing. The ‘Eye Contact’ feature uses artificial intelligence to simulate direct eye contact with the camera, even if the user is not looking directly at the lens. --ChatGPT 4o
Finally, I noticed that the release date is about no less than 6 months of the "eye contact deception video conference call" example that I did with their management in 2022 (and I still have that video conference call in full).
Re-watching that video as 3rd party observer, and once being acknowledged about their "eye contact" technology release date, I realized that I did not played their technology inverse effect but indirectly I have suggested it.
