It was an honor to attend GITEX, the world's largest startup and tech expo & Expand North Star, it was great to observe the limitless potential of technology, from flying cars that seemed straight out of science fiction to groundbreaking AI applications shaping the future. Had opportunity to engage with incredible startups and visionary leaders, each offering a unique approach to solving some of the world's biggest challenges & explore a myriad of technological breakthroughs. Key Highlights from GITEX 2024: Flying Cars & Urban Air Mobility: Technological advancements are pushing the envelope in urban air mobility, presenting flying cars that promise to transform city transport in the near future. With sustainable propulsion systems and AI-driven navigation, these vehicles are not just concepts but ready to be integrated into smart cities soon. AI Revolution in Every Sector: AI innovations dominated the show, from natural language processing to AI-powered diagnostics in healthcare. One of the most exciting conversations was around AI's role in real-time decision-making—whether in healthcare, finance, or even education, the future of AI is one of ubiquitous intelligence embedded in every aspect of our lives. Quantum Computing on the Rise: The power of quantum computing was showcased by several startups, with applications that could revolutionize everything from data encryption to drug discovery. It’s clear that the potential here is limitless and will redefine industries in ways we are only beginning to grasp. 5G & Smart Cities: The evolution of 5G technology and its role in powering smart cities was another focal point. 🏆 AEInnova has won the Barcelona Deep Tech Awards 2024 AEInnova - Alternative Energy Innovations, SL has been chosen as the Best Deep Tech Startup 2024 by the competition panel. It is a spin-off from the Microelectronics Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, founded by researchers with doctorates in microelectronics, telecommunications, and energy. The spin-off aims to transform high-energy-demand industries into more digital and sustainable sectors with minimal environmental impact. AEInnova is recognized as a key EU innovator in autonomous IoT sensors. It has won more than 30 international awards, including some from the United Nations for its commitment to fighting climate change. Lorenzo Di Pietro, managing director of Barcelona Activa, presented the Barcelona Deep Tech Awards to the winner. MiWEndo Solutions and Roka Furadada were the runners-up.
