🎉 90 Days at Tillster! 🎉 Three months ago, on Valentine’s Day, I embarked on a new journey with Tillster. From day one, I knew I was in the company of incredibly talented team members. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I was determined to prove my worth and contribute meaningfully. The past 90 days have been a period of intense learning and growth. With the support of my amazing colleagues, I am gaining the knowledge and confidence needed to help drive Tillster forward. So why am I sharing this? For anyone starting over or joining a new company, those first 30 to 60 days can feel overwhelming. You might come from a place where people leaned on you, and now you’re the one seeking guidance. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, no matter how "dumb" they might seem. And don’t be shy about offering help to others, regardless of when they joined. 🚀 A Tale of Two Barbershops: What's Happening to Work Ethic? 🚀 Last month, I swung by this cool old barbershop in Bathalagundu, Dindigul. It had this vibe, you know? Anyway, there were two barbers: a veteran and a newbie. The veteran was all about his job, even when the owner wasn't around. He got paid a cut of the day's earnings and was cool with it. But the newbie? Not so much. He wasn't happy with his pay and only wanted to do the easy stuff, like shaving. Fast forward to this month in Bengaluru. I hit up this hip, new barbershop. The owner was hands-on, but he had this young assistant. When I tried to talk to the assistant, he couldn't understand me! So, the owner had to step in to finish up my haircut. Turns out, the assistant wasn't into it and didn't care much about doing a good job. These experiences got me thinking: are younger folks today less interested in doing good work? Are they just after quick cash instead of building skills and making customers happy? Are there really not enough jobs, or are there just lots of young people not interested in working hard? Signing Off: The End of an Epic Chapter After over 6 years with MarketStar, it’s time for me to hang up my MarketStar hat (and, let’s be honest, probably a few too many branded t-shirts). This journey has been nothing short of amazing—a rollercoaster of growth, learning, and coffee-fueled deadlines. It's all about smiles. Recently, I spent some time properly organising my filing which included saving the numerous bits of feedback we've been fortunate enough to receive at Fizz Experience & WDS (Warehouse Demo Services) thanks to the brilliant work of our brand ambassadors working for brands and retailers up and down the UK. Here's just a snippet of the words that jumped out to me the most: "Nice and happy personality" "Wonderful sense of humour" "Super-friendly, smiley and helpful" "Such a polite young man - he was so good to me and my little girl" "Engaging and friendly - always had a smile on their face" "I don't think we have ever been in a shop and laughed so much" "Smiling and light-hearted" "Very friendly and helpful" "So polite, talkative, smiley and good at his job" . . . Notice anything? It's your people and how they interact with your customers (how they make them feel) that is most likely to have a positive impact on the experience. Continuing My Sendy Career Journey During my time at Sendy, I worked as an Operations Associate in the Enterprise Business Unit (EBU). Sendy, a logistics startup, specialized in delivering goods for clients across various business units: 1. Large consignments handled by trailers (28 tonnes). 2. Medium-sized deliveries (2 to 14 tonnes) – this was my focus area. 3. Smaller packages, primarily delivered by motorbikes. This role was transformative for me. It was at Sendy that I discovered my passion for operations—problem-solving, managing people, and getting things done practically. I realized I thrive in environments that demand solutions, collaboration, and proactive engagement. I loved interacting with clients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring smooth operations. I enjoyed it so much that working late into the night or arriving early didn’t feel like a burden. The work culture at Sendy played a big role in shaping this experience. To this day, I consider Sendy my favorite employer. The company fostered an environment that encouraged growth, accountability, and teamwork. Even during a challenging personal season in my life, the HR team’s support helped me maintain balance. Ironically, that was when I performed at my best, thanks to the understanding and flexibility they provided. My time at Sendy not only clarified my career aspirations but also reinforced my love for practical, hands-on roles where I can make a tangible impact. I’ll share more soon, but I remain deeply grateful for the lessons and experiences I gained there.

I regularly go to this grocery store near my place with my wife and daughter. It has great ambience, all top notch quality products and my daughter loves to buy grocery from there. But recently what I noticed that the usual two cashiers are not there since last few visits. When I spoke to them, I realised they resigned due to various reasons. But whats more important is that my daughter doesn't want to go there anymore because the new staff is not welcoming like the earlier one. I prefer to order stuff through quick commerce more often now. I learnt something here - 1. No matter how good products, ambience, location or any other advantage you have, if the experience is not great people will find alternative. 2. Having good people who can make your customers engaged and happy is so so important for the businesses. Client Experience is one of the most important aspects of running a successful businesses. 3. If you find such resources you should not let them leave at any cost. Always focus on building a team that will take good care of your customers. #customerexperience

6 years at Selecto company 😱 It is hard to believe in that. I've never thought that working at the same company for so long may be really as interesting as challenging for sure 😁 (nice challenges though) - I've changed 4 positions at Selecto company 😎; - Have made a lot of mistakes that were the best lessons and helped me grow as a professional; - I haven't been afraid to try to do new tasks because Selecto company is really open to it 🔥; - I have had the possibility to combine 2 of my passions - working with people and figures. By the way, the most important ones: 🤗 met a lot of amazing people and some of them started to be so much more than co-workers. 💡 learned how not to stop and have understood that the best way in any hard situation is to stay calm, plan and try to find a decision using a dialogue. I'm so happy to be a part of a company that all the time gives me new possibilities to develop myself and here I can stay genuine and keep my values ❤️ P. S. “Food and Forecast” That was the name of the texting group I had with my fellow sales leaders last year when I was a Regional VP Sales. There were only three of us on the text chain but we messaged each other multiple times per day, even on the weekends. Half the time it was business related … pipeline updates, customer follow up reminders, celebrating our team’s respective wins, and talking about our sales reps…just kidding. Wanted to make sure you were still paying attention at the end 😂 The other half of the time was texting food pics or sharing menus of the latest restaurants we were frequenting. Yes…sign me up for some good food porn! Does anyone else in LinkedIn nation love to read menus? It’s definitely a favorite pastime of mine. I joke that I have more pictures of food on my phone than I do of my kids, but that’s the truth. I’m a total foodie. All my friends and family know not to touch their plates of food until I’m able to snap a pic. 📸 I was doing a digital cleanse this past week, deleting old text chains and came across “Food and Forecast”. I found myself reading through old messages. It brought me back to when times were good inside the corporate bubble, the months prior to my November layoff; before the bubble burst. My layoff turned something as simple as this “Food and Forecast” texting chain that once brought me so much joy and laughter into a digital cemetery. I miss not having these pings on my phone throughout the day. And it hurt my heart when I tried to engage via text post layoff and got zero response back from the people on this chain. 🤷🏻♀️ ✅ Day 16 of 30 Day LI Video Challenge brings you highlights from last year’s Food & Wine Festival in Aspen, CO.
