We are in an era of Value Creation. Smart management teams are recognizing they don’t need Private Equity to execute scaling strategies that work. They also recognize that starting with the end in mind even if the company is never sold is a safer way to grow. Looking through the lens of a seller is like driving a car by looking out the back window. Instead the most successful teams understand looking through the lens of a buyer, allows insightful vision of the way forward, and uncovers value leakage which prioritizes actions. #valuecreation

The Boston Matrix(BCG), also known as the Growth-Share Matrix, is a strategic management tool that classifies a company's product portfolio into four categories: Stars, Cash Cows, Question Marks, and Dogs. 1. Stars: High market share and high growth rate, requiring heavy investment to maintain growth. 2. Cash Cows: High market share in a slow-growth market, generating significant cash but with limited growth potential. 3. Question Marks (or Problem Children): Low market share in a high-growth market, requiring strategic decisions to either invest for growth or divest. 4. Dogs: Low market share in a slow-growth market, typically not generating much profit and often considered for divestment. The matrix helps businesses allocate resources strategically based on the position of their products within these categories.
