Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Scott MacGregor of The Outlier Project. As fellow networkers passionate about connection and community-building, we instantly connected over Zoom. Scott shared his vision for The Outlier Project and I was intrigued. He urged me to join for a month and see what I thought, I had nothing to lose. What sealed the deal? A message from one of my favorite people on @LinkedIn Melissa Cohen about her involvement. Let me just say- I've joined many communities, groups, and organizations over the years. Some lack active leadership or are too confusing to navigate. Others don't resonate with me, while some shine briefly before fading. They all claim to be unique, but The Outlier Project truly stands out. This past Friday, I received an unexpected welcome package from Scott & The Outlier Project: Scott's book, stickers, a personalized card, and an inspiring "We Believe" card with motivational sayings like "Anyone can be ordinary, but we all have the power to choose to be extraordinary." I recorded a video to share this, intending to post on Monday but I have been navigating two weeks in South Florida, in June, with no AC - it's a nightmare! and so my post was delayed. Instead on Monday, I was surprised by a post welcoming me to The Outlier Project. https://lnkd.in/eMQA2wc6 (My favorite part of the post? #BeLikeWendy 😎) The response was overwhelming - an outpouring of warm messages from community members, both in comments and DMs. The timing couldn't be better, as I've also been invited to a meetup happening in just a few short weeks. "Outlier" refers to someone statistically unusual, outside the ordinary. So far, The Outlier Project has lived up to its name. I'm excited to be part of this extraordinary community and look forward to connecting with more remarkable individuals here.
