I carry a pocket knife to the office every day Do I need a knife every day? No Do I need a knife every week? Not really Do I need a knife every month? Maybe but probably not To be honest, I carry a knife every day because that’s how I was raised. My dad and grandpa carried knives. It’s what men do where I’m from. I also carry it as a little reminder of who I am. I’m an outsider in the legal profession. I’m a farm kid from a blue collar community who just happens to be a trial lawyer.
I carry a gun to work every day. Why? Because I can't carry a cop.
Before I was a lawyer, I worked in a bunch of restaurant kitchens. I was two years into practice before I realized I probably wouldn’t need to keep a box cutter in my back pocket ever again. It sits in my desk drawer as a nice reminder that I’m living the dream.
I carry an acoustic guitar for protection. If anyone comes at me I start playing Wonderwall and they cringe so hard they pass out.
I also carry a pocket knife everywhere. Same reasoning as you, mostly, except that I do need to use it probably twice a week on average.
My husband says you have excellent taste in knives.
and... it's a Benchmade. :)
I love this! I married a blue collar raised, pocket knife carrying, white collar guy from Texas and he gave me a Benchmade for my purse/pocket. He's a romantic! Lol
I used to carry a knife all the time for the same reason. My grandpa always had a sharp one on him. In a pinch, he could’ve shaved with his knives. My habit came to an abrupt end once I started working in a federal prison. But come the weekend, I put my Kershaw in my pocket and remember my grandpa.
