One of the critical areas where GenAI has been heralded as being a procurement game changer is efficiency. However, higher procurement efficiency cannot come at the expense of procurement quality. Lower cost outcomes that deliver less value will be a significant step in the wrong direction and will struggle to gain any traction or market share. Before investing in any procurement technology, ask yourself if your objective is to buy better, or to buy cheaper. If your objective is to buy better, forensically examine how the solution will buy better, and satisfy yourself that your investment will deliver a tangible improvement (and not just a reduction in headcount). #genai #procurement
