The term “emotional leakage” is what happens when you suppress your true feelings and they slip out accidentally somewhere else. If you’ve ever experienced this, either at work or at home, this is a great article to check out. Coincidentally, this is also a big part of having a trusted coach you can process these situations with full transparency. Sometimes you can work through tough relationships on your own, or process out your feelings about something with a co-worker, but many times, having the confidentiality of a coach is a better option in the long run. Just finished Working with Difficult People! Thank you Dr. Emily Anhalt for this course; good information throughout. I don't believe it was covered but something that should be emphasized is to be careful that one doesn't come off as patronizing when addressing the difficult person/people in one's workplace. It's a fine balance for someone not used to these interactions. Then again, one shouldn't become *that* used to them, unless they're HR themselves.
