F&O Survival Kit XII: Up Against The Algorithms There you go: the algorithms are catching up with us humans at a frenetic pace. How difficult is it for an algorithm to learn the stuff that I am posting here, for F&O Survival. We have already seen that Hedge Funds like Jane Street, Millenium Capital, Optiver and Tower Research are able to "farm" regular irrationalities of the Human Mind. This is going to increase: you cannot go into battle with the algorithms, with a bullock cart, when they are riding chariots of fire. But tarry! All is not lost.....remember: I said it is a sackfight. So when you understand the algorithms, you will be ahead. Which means we have to build tanks, against their chariots. And when they build super-tanks, then we will need gunships....and so on! It's still far away, but only for those who shift from Classical Finance to the Behavioural Models. The low-level stuff parading itself on YouTube, is not "education", it's just spoken textbooks, and at best, academic observations.
