We celebrate Earth Day once a year. What do we do rest of the year? At CocoaTown (https://cocoatown.com/), we are very mindful of the environment we live. We believe in leaving the earth better than how we found it. We follow the principle "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" We do not use fancy printed boxes to ship because once the customer removes the equipment from the package, the packing materials go to landfill. We also use reusable storage containers whenever we ship the equipment on pallets. We use stainless steel parts as much as possible and they keep working even after 15 years of continuous use. Many companies advertised that they can buy their machines for lesser price than CocoaTown's prices and if the machine does not work, they can throw it away and buy a new one. Our philosophy is that you should buy a machine that lasts longer and in turn provides high ROI (Return On Investment). In addition, the machine does not end up in landfill. We reuse the packing materials and boxes for various purposes. All our machines are multipurpose and increases the chances of being used are more. We Recycle at our office. It also helps that our office is very close to Roswell Recycling Center. We help the sustainability of cocoa farms. Now farmers can sell semiprocessed or fully processed products like nibs, couverture etc instead of selling cocoa beans in the commodity market. Craft chocolate makers also pay more to farmers than the commodity prices. When we started making machines for bean to bar industry, the average cocoa farmer age was in 60s. Now we see more and more youngsters are getting involved in farming. There is also increased awareness among farmers about organic farming. So let us treat each day as Earth day and together we can leave the planet in a better shape (for our future generations) than what we inherited. We fully support farmers to implement regenerative agriculture techniques in their farm via our network of over 600 agronomists. This new approach of agriculture starts with healthy, living soils that have the ability to sequester carbon while promoting biodiversity & natural ecosystems at farm level. Most crucially, it puts farmers' livelihoods at the forefront: regenerative agriculture helps reduce inputs while increasing yields, so farmers have an opportunity to increase their income. Sapore Lavida is our first 100% traceable sourdough made with flour cultivated using regenerative agriculture practices. The future of food can be found nestled among emerald green pastures and rolling hills lush with wildflowers. Red barns, breathtaking valleys and pristine lakes dot the landscape.
