I received a marketing email with brat summer in the title--but wait is brat summer still a thing? I thought we were on to being demure and mindful- or wait no, is it now fall 1st? It got me thinking, how are brands and content creators keeping up with these trends when the relevancy window is getting smaller and smaller? I can't imagine curating a concept around these trends and by the time you get the final signoff, it's so yesterday. Are brands choosing to ditch microtrends and sticking to content strategies that have already been planned or hustle to release relevant trending content? One brand I think is absolutely killing it with content creation is Mohawk Chevrolet's "the dealership" series on TikTok-it's fresh, authentic, and genuinely entertaining. Thoughts? 💫 #ContentCreation #socialmedia #emailmarketing #bratsummer

There is nothing I love more than seeing small brands and creators win big with genuinely creative, unique, and simply brilliant content. This video from Fei Er Restaurant on instagram has more than 12.2 million views 🤯 It should give all businesses hope that if they focus on getting content right, on sticking out instead of following suit, that they can win big. It's all about taking creative risks. How many weird & wonderful pieces of content have been binned by an approval process? If you're employing a marketing team or a creative employee with a content idea in 2024. Then this is your sign to back off, hand them the reins, and see what happens. Anyone else love this kind of content? #Marketing #Advertising #Creativity

Content marketers, we need to start broadly consuming content outside of our industry. Competitor research and trend following are making us stale and impossible to discern. If I only read Hemmingway, I would write like him. If I only watched Wes Anderson movies, I would make videos like him. We like and remember creators because we like their specific style, if all our stuff sounds and looks the same, how could an audience member or consumer ever remember us let alone like our brand specifically? Read broadly, watch all types of media from all types of brands and creators, take in art, look at ads, pay attention to copy. Inspiration can (and should) come from anywhere. #ContentMarketing #ContentStrategy
