In the Smart City somewhere in Africa, there were two hotel leaders: Alex and Mr. Grumples. Alex loved meeting new people and making friends. He thought it was important to work together with other businesses via visit them to make the hotel better with a slot of clients. So, he visited them and shared his ideas with a smile and attracted them. But Mr. Grumples was different. He stayed in his office a lot and didn't like sales visit, he used to instruct junior staff to do that but the companies couldn't understand those junior staff, He thought the hotel could do fine on its own without a sales visit as Leader. Alex also worked closely with his team especially director of sales and marketing to come up with fun ideas to bring in more guests. But Mr. Grumples didn't listen to his team much. He just gave orders without really understanding what they needed. Because Alex treated his team well, they felt happy and worked together like a family and every head of department likes him because they listen there ideas. But Mr. Grumples' team felt sad and didn't try hard because their boss didn't care about them. Alex's hotel became popular because of his friendly leadership and happy team. But Mr. Grumples' hotel struggled to get guests because it wasn't a fun place to be everyone in his mind was to look for another opportunity. In the end, Alex showed that being kind, working together, and listening to others can make a big difference. And Mr. Grumples learned that being grumpy doesn't make a hotel a nice place to stay. #hotels #management #leadership

48 Years of Entrepreneurial Wisdom: Lessons from a 5* superior hotel CEO. I had the privilege of attending a mastermind at one of Austria's best hotels. On the third day, we had a special guest: Josef Stock, the founder of Hotel Stock. From a small restaurant, he built it into a 5-star superior hotel over 48 years. Here are some invaluable lessons he shared: - Listen to your customers – Build your services around their needs. - Never leave a negotiation on bad terms – You'll likely meet again. (He mentioned the challenges of buying land from Austrian farmers!) - Be a role model – Lead by example. Your behavior sets the tone for your team. - Hospitality comes from the heart – It’s not something you can fake. - Don’t rely on external sales advisors – Maintain business control. - Embrace risky investments – Often, fear points toward where we need to go.
