New Science Report by Rewind! 🌊🌱 Before we all head out to celebrate Christmas and Hanukka, we’re publishing a glimpse of our 3-year lab experiment, revealing how different biomass placements - floating, laying, or embedded in the sediment - impact carbon preservation and the surrounding chemistry. The first 4 months are complete, and the results are both fascinating and promising! Check out the report here: https://lnkd.in/eMdZMYAP 📖 #RewindReport #CarbonPreservation #BiomassResearch #ScienceBreakthrough

Important piece of research shedding light on the core questions of Rewind's method (e.g. should sequestered biomass be placed gently on the seafloor or submerged in it?) & MRV (how does the biogeochemistry change over time, and what are the key parameters to measure?). Kudos to Nitai Amiel, PhD, Haim Lahovitski, Dror Angel, Peter Krost, Josh Steinberg and Yevgeni Gutnik for putting us on the forefront of science 👏💫

We are thrilled to share our latest research article in Journal of Fluorescence titled: "Green Synthesis of Highly Fluorescent Carbon Dots from Groundnut Shell Biomass for Bioimaging Applications" This study explores an innovative and sustainable method for synthesizing highly fluorescent carbon dots using groundnut shells, a readily available agricultural residue. These nature-derived carbon dots provide an eco-friendly alternative to metal-based quantum dots, with remarkable properties for bioimaging applications. Key Highlights from the Study: ✅ A green and facile synthesis approach for GCDs. ✅ HRTEM analysis confirms low-dimensional graphitic structures with a lattice spacing of ~0.22 nm. ✅ Intense absorption at 278 nm attributed to π–π* transitions of hybridized sp2/sp3 orbitals. ✅ Pronounced fluorescence emission with excitation wavelength dependence. ✅ A quantum yield of 17.1%. ✅ Biocompatibility verified through cell viability tests, demonstrating their suitability for bioimaging. This work highlights the potential of renewable biomass sources in creating sustainable solutions for cutting-edge applications like bioimaging. 📖 Read the full article for more insights: https://lnkd.in/eXtB76U8 Siva Kumar Belliraj, Praveen Vadlani, Aditya Kurdekar #GreenSynthesis #CarbonDots #SustainableScience #Bioimaging #GroundnutShells #BiomassInnovation #Research
