#Limits Thanks to the clarity in my way of setting boundaries, I can maintain a connection with others without losing my own essence. Specifically, limits are not walls. An example: if we were olympic swimmers, each one would move through their own lane and advance, knowing that there are spaces that must be respected . What drives Olympic-level athletes to push their limits day after day? In this week's newsletter, I sit down with Michael di Santo, former U.S. National Rowing Team member and Olympian, to explore the surprising role of anxiety and anger in elite athletic performance. It's tempting to label anger and anxiety as negative emotions but that's simply not true. They are essential emotions. Big, uncomfortable emotions like anxiety and anger are motivating for lots of us, and we shouldn't be scared to feel these emotions and channel them. The key is listening to our emotions and understanding when they're telling us it's time for a change. Di Santo shares his journey through 10 years as one of the world's most elite rowers and the inner emotional journey of that experience. #Olympics2024 #PerformancePsychology #MentalHealth #Leadership #PersonalDevelopment #ParisOlympics #anxiety

With the Paris Olympics kicking off last weekend, the pursuit of winning is front and center. Alistair Brownlee, two-time Olympic gold medalist and four-time triathlon world champion, shared the following advice we can all benefit from: #1: Determination drives long-term success and fuels persistence through pushback. #2: Remove as many barriers as possible to build productive habits. #3: Increase the bar without breaking it. #4: The bigger the rock, the bigger the gain. #5: Effective leadership stems from conviction and assembling a supportive team. May we challenge ourselves to do our best and strive for excellence, not just every four years but every day. #olympics #paris2024

Do Olympic coaches get medals? So there I was, watching Katie Ledecky crush her last lap and snag her 14th Olympic medal. Pretty impressive, right? But here's the kicker - I got curious and Googled "do coaches get Olympic medals?" Spoiler alert: They don't. Not a single one. Now, I don't know when I went from wannabe "corporate Olympian" to coaching other "corporate Olympians," but it got me thinking about the whole coaching gig. My coach once told me, "You're the hero of your journey." Sounds like some fortune cookie wisdom, right? But stick with me here. You've got dreams, my friend. Big, juicy $200k+ dreams. But let me hit you with some truth - you can't do this alone. You need training. Strategy. And yeah, coaching. Because right now, you're probably underestimating how much work this'll take and overestimating your ability to figure it out solo. Here's the deal: Getting a coach doesn't mean you failed. It means you're smart enough to know you don't know everything. Heck, it means you'll probably succeed faster than the lone wolves out there. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 - 𝗻𝗼 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵. 𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼? As a coach, my job is simple: I believe in you more than you believe in yourself. I keep you on track when you want to quit. I'm the voice in your ear saying "Keep going" when things get tough. Will it be easy? Nope. Will you face challenges? You bet you will. But with the right coaching, you'll overcome all that and build more confidence than you ever thought possible. So, are you ready to go for your corporate gold medal? If you're done playing small and ready to aim for that $200k role, book a call with my team. Let's see if we're a fit to help you crush your goals. Remember, no coach can guarantee your success. But I can guarantee that the effort you put in with us will be 10x better than what you'd do alone. Time to step up. You in? Love, Prashha "Hooked on Olympics" Dutra P.S. Every day you wait is another day you're not making $200k. Don't leave money on the table because you're too proud to ask for help. Book that call now. (link is in the comments)

In the long run: What leaders can learn from an Olympic gold medalist Alistair Brownlee, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, shares his strategies for staying resilient amid pushback, removing barriers to creating habits, and leading with conviction. Alistair Brownlee, two-time Olympic gold medalist, four-time triathlon world champion, three-time Ironman winner, and bestselling author, isn’t one to shy away from making a mantra his own: “If you want to achieve something no one has achieved before, you have to approach the challenge in a way no one has before.” https://lnkd.in/gh7Fi2De

In a Facebook post Kagiso Monyadiwa wrote “At the ongoing paralympics, most of the athletes especially the blind ones need a guide for their races. This means for the athletes to win, the guides must train with great energy just like the competitors. Now that is revealing for me in the sense that sometimes to win, you need the strength of one who actually isn't competing but by leveraging on his strength, you can claim gold. Everyone needs someone at one point in time for life's podium of glory.” This is where a coach is helpful. You’re a business person looking for the next goal to crush - you could use a coach. You find yourself an empty nester and wondering what this next stage of life will bring - you could use a coach. There are so many reasons to have a coach walking along side you and helping you reach for your “what’s next” moment? #pacificcoaching #rightfittingcoach #encourage_support_grow

Two of my all time favorite movies are about rowing. Heart of Champions and The Boys in the Boat. The rowing machine is my favorite go to machine for exercise. Rowing gives me the feeling of piercing through the water (in my mind), while getting a whole body work out. It gives me an amazing feeling of accomplishment. Unlike other sports, rowing teams are known not only for team work but the ability to be in total sync with each other, in order to be exceptional. They too have leaders, however it's the ability to be in total sync with each other, along with the the physical strength & endurance, that separates the winners from the others. This applies for teams in organizations too. Having teams that are in total sync with each other will give exceptional results when it comes to team performance and achievements. The question is, can such teams be developed in corporate environment? The short answer is Yes, however, it requires deeper work to be done with each individuals in order to remove their own limitations before helping to remove the team's limitations. Such teams not only can provide outstanding results but also improve profitability. What are you doing to turn yours into an amazing team? #teamwork #personaldevelopment #success #teamdevelopment #worklifebalance #successfulcareer #careersuccess #improve #results #increaseproductivity
