Important information - During the course of Give!Guide there will be several Big Give Days. How BGDs work: Each and every time someone makes a donation on a BGD, they're automatically entered into a raffle to win a great incentive prize provided by G!G. The winner is randomly drawn the next morning. Example: If a donor gives to 3 orgs in 1 transaction, they'll have 3 entries. Why? Because they made 3 donations. Do you want to game the system? Break your donation into multiple transactions. Instead of giving $100 in 1 transaction, make 10 transactions, each time for $10. It's still $100 total, but now you'll have 10 entries. Do your appeals have a “big number” problem? Do you pitch out an appeal remarking about the millions of people who experience a problem? You’re making a mistake — here’s why. People have a hard time relating to big numbers. If you send an appeal that tells a story of 800 million people going to bed hungry tonight, the average donor doesn't believe his $50 is going to make a difference. What will $50 do to make a dent in this large of a problem? Instead, tell a story of one person the reader could help. The story helps the reader connect to someone he can see himself helping with his $50 donation. Use the big numbers to reinforce the donation decision. #fundraising
