Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting an inspiring young, talented up and coming Engineer Kelen who truly left a lasting impression. I had been following her journey from the sidelines (on linkedin) and invited her to lunch. Kelen’s story is incredibly captivating. Arriving in Australia with limited English, she was determined to kick-start her engineering career here. Through relentless networking and patience, she seized an opportunity with a well-known engineering firm. Today, she's thriving and making a meaningful impact in the community through her inspiring work and she is a great ambassador for young women Engineers in particular international Engineers / graduates. Her passion, wholesomeness, humility, and gratitude shone through. She is destined for big things and I look forward to cheerleading her on. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is connecting with such fascinating and inspiring professionals that not only excel in their fields but also embody what it means to be exceptional human beings. She reminded me of the transformative power of passion and dedication. Surrounding yourself with positive energy is truly infectious. During our conversation, we delved into topics like networking, community involvement, and the challenges of finding talented Engineers. We explored potential collaborations and shared insights into how we can both do our part to support those in need (candidates and clients), and community initiatives. If you admire someone's achievements and wish to learn from their journey, invite them for coffee or lunch. 5 new initiatives from the NextEducation Research Group: 🚀 We are on the cusp of an exciting time of innovation and change in education for future skills. I am delighted to announce that this spring the #NextEducation Research Group is applying for five ground-breaking international EU initiatives in the area of #FutureSkills. These initiatives are designed to reshape the landscape of higher education and professional development in Europe. We are co-operating with more than 60 universities and research institutes from 24 EU countries: 1. **Future Skills for Higher Education** - A refocusing of academic programmes to prepare tomorrow's leaders. 2 **Future Skills in the EU-wide Future Talents Network** - A skills initiative that promotes cross-industry learning and collaboration. 3. **Future Skills for Future Technicians** - Bridging the gap between research and entrepreneurship to support the next generation of innovators. 4. **Future Skills for student engagement in higher education** - initiatives to foster active and engaged learning communities. 5 **Future Skills for Future Professionals in the Energy Sector** - My personal favourite. Given Europe's urgent need to get on its feet in the energy sector, this Skills Alliance aims to develop reskilling and upskilling concepts to master the transformation in this critical area. I didn't realise how vast the "energysector" actually is - it's the largest organisational and economic ecosystem. Each of these initiatives promises to make a significant contribution to the development of future-proof skills in their respective fields. 👥 I'm excited at the prospect of pursuing these new initiatives, and especially if we manage to adopt a new Future Skills project family. The journey ahead is both challenging and inspiring, and I look forward to coming together with like-minded people to drive this change.
