Should we all be investing in artificial intelligence? Ben Rogoff, manager of the Polar Capital Technology Trust, certainly thinks so. Personally, I'm still a bit too worried about the likelihood of a Terminator/SkyNet type scenario, but he assured me this is far down the list of risks. What do you think - investment opportunity, market bubble or pending apocalypse? #investing #tech #techfund #artificialintelligence https://lnkd.in/eK9_xmWg

🇺🇸 Intelligent Alpha, a fintech startup, is launching an artificial intelligence-based ETF that will mimic the strategies of famous investors such as Warren Buffett, Stanley Druckenmiller and David Tepper, using ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude as an ‘investment committee.’ - Bloomberg. The ETF, called the Intelligent Livermore ETF (#LIVR), will use large language models (LLMs) to create a portfolio of 60-90 companies in various sectors such as healthcare and renewable energy, although the portfolio may not reflect the actual investments of these investors. The goal of the ETF is to use artificial intelligence to create investment strategies inspired by famous investors, although the use of AI in this area remains experimental and has not been proven to outperform passive investing. Only one AI-based ETF (Franklin Intelligent Machines ETF) has outperformed the S&P 500 this year, and most other AI-focused ETFs have had minimal inflows or outflows. The ETF will have human oversight to ensure regulatory compliance and prevent potential AI mistakes, such as picking companies involved in fraud. Diversified portfolios by their very nature (and exposure to the magnificent seven) mean most investors have a stake in AI. In fact anyone with a pension in the UK today is highly likely to be an investor
