U.S. State – Washington What do you see? The Space Needle – an iconic Seattle landmark built for the 1962 World’s Fair, stands tall as a symbol of innovation, offering panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. Over the next 50 days, I’ll be sharing a series of posters, each distilling the essence of a U.S. state into a minimalistic design. My goal is to strip away the unnecessary and focus on the core of what each state represents – to me. What do you think represents this state?

By incorporating public art into urban design, cities can create more vibrant and engaging streetscapes that foster a sense of place and community pride. Public art also has the power to inspire and provoke thought, promote social cohesion, and contribute to the overall well-being of residents.

Urban art is something that people tend to undermine or even ignore; however, urban art plays a key role at creating a sense of place and allowing people to gather around master pieces. Dear urban designers please be mindful of creating spaces for urban art.
