6 Meeting rules by Elon Musk 🔥 Let's STOP the meeting madness. ↓ 1 - Avoid large meetings "get off all large meetings, unless you’re certain they are providing value to the whole audience.” 2 - Leave a meeting if you’re not contributing “walk out of a meeting or drop off a call as soon as it is obvious you aren’t adding value. It is not rude to leave, it is rude to make someone stay and waste their time.” 3 - Forget the chain of command "communication should travel via the shortest path necessary to get the job done." 4 - Be clear, not clever This one also makes total sense. 5 - Ditch frequent meetings Americans sit through 11 million meetings every day (!). The cost? → $37 billion a year 🤯 So, let's DITCH useless meetings. 6 - Use common sense “in general, always pick common sense as your guide (FINALLY someone said it). If following a company rule is obviously ridiculous in a particular situation, such that it would make for a great Dilbert cartoon, then the rule should change.” → I LOVE these 6 rules. Because so many meetings could have been an EMAIL. Meetings does NOT equal productivity 💯 ↓ Agree? ♻️ Repost this to your network if you ♻️ 👆Hi, I'm Hanna Larsson, I teach people how to leverage the attention economy and build profitable online businesses through their personal brands.

We also need to get smarter on using email constructively though! So many pointless emails were sent when I worked in corporate - emails you are copied in on unnecessarily, emails that were unclear, emails that were as pointless as all the meetings. So many organisations don't actually think through and express meeting, email and general communication etiquette. I wonder how much time would be saved and how much more productive we'd be if these things were just thought through a little more carefully and inclusively?
We should meet about this , circle back and meet again.
Agree and I would add 7.: Wear a T-shirt that says ‘This meeting could have been an e-mail’ to meetings. 😀
If your meeting isn’t driving action, it’s driving people insane. Elon’s rules should be mandatory reading for anyone who schedules a meeting.
That's why I love startup culture. No meetings. Just work like a Family ❤️
Love the data! 37 BILLION! 🤮
I love point number 4 Be clear, not clever. You complicate issues when you trying to be clever.
