The numbers are staggering. ⛈ As of 2024, over ~150,000 professionals have lost their jobs, from small tech startups to giants. It's a tough reality: layoffs have become a painful norm, and the uncertainty that comes with it can be overwhelming. If you’ve been affected, I truly empathize. No one should face the shock and disruption that comes with such sudden changes. The unfortunate truth is, layoffs are often out of our hands. But what we can control is how we respond. The right opportunity might be closer than you think, and there are still paths forward - stronger, more resilient paths. I’m helping a family member hire female candidates (diversity is a priority!) for two key roles at a Gurgaon based organisation, a company making waves in edtech: 1️⃣ Program Advisor A role focused on driving student success and enrollment strategies. Ideal for professionals with 3+ years of experience, especially in edtech sales. Salary: upto 6LPA + incentives. 2️⃣ Inside Sales Specialist Centered on tele-counseling and engagement with prospective students. Requires 2+ years of experience in counseling or sales. Salary: upto 4LPA + incentives. Who should apply? If you're looking for growth in a supportive, mission-driven environment, or know someone who is, fill out this quick form to express interest: https://lnkd.in/gJ4DQKew 💬 For job seekers: This isn’t just about filling roles; it’s about making meaningful matches. If these positions don’t resonate with your profile, feel free to connect. There’s always something new on the horizon. 💬 For tech employers: If you’re navigating similar hiring challenges or looking to connect with vetted tech talent, I’d be happy to collaborate and share insights. Together, we can redefine hiring amidst industry shifts and move forward.

This too shall pass, you just have to believe! As layoffs keep continuing (checkout https://layoffs.fyi/) its often difficult to keep up the persistence and resilience. What is utmost important is channeling efforts and avoiding burn out. For example a friend of mine told me he was very focused on prospecting companies, getting connecting with hiring managers and applying to only 1 or 2 relevant job families. He prioritized quality and it worked for him in this brutal market. Something that can help us prospect is identifying that right job role given our experiences and transferrable skills and using the Google search bar as follows: site:lever.co OR site:greenhouse.io OR site:workable.com OR site:dover.io "_____" (insert job title keyword) You could also hit space and enter other keywords in quotes to search for multiple jobs. You could also add the location next to the quotes that will help target the relevant geographies. Apart from the job boards it's important to try and connect with employees, recruiters and hiring managers so that there is some familiarity. Remember the market is full of ghost jobs and applicants where added efforts will go further. Hopefully this helps and I see a lot more green banners coming down in my feed. The Great People Now Available list is back, and now it has a buddy. Two years ago when layoffs started to accelerate, we started a simple list of vouched-for people in go-to-market roles (marketing, sales, customer success, product primarily). For almost two years, the list was used by hundreds of hiring managers to identify candidates, and more than 1,000 great people who were once on the list found new roles. Unfortunately, after a relatively quiet summer we're seeing an uptick in layoffs again in Q4. So the Great People Now Available list is back. If you know of someone recently laid off and can vouch for them, please add them to the list at GreatPeopleNowAvailable .com. We're also thankfully seeing a TON of companies actively hiring for GTM roles as they prep for aggressive growth goals into 2025. If you'd like to see what roles they have available - specifically at companies with leaders and cultures we can vouch for - check out GreatPeopleNowHIRING .com. Hiring Managers - If you'd like access to the Great People Now Available list (not shared publicly as it has personal email addresses on it), DM or email me and I'll get it to you. ALSO Hiring Managers - If you have open roles you'd like to add to the Great People Now Hiring list, DM me for the input form. We're excited to be able to play a small part in helping great people find great new roles. And thank you to all who have helped amplify the lists to your networks.

tl;dr, I'm asking for your help in my job search!!! When I first started in Talent Acquisition, I had no recruiting experience whatsoever. Within months, I learned and supported candidates across the entire tech stack, multiple profiles, and the entire Google product portfolio. I exceeded my goals every quarter, often by double or even triple. I created and implemented strategies to deliver on niche hiring needs. I advocated for candidates and worked on processes to make their hiring more accessible. What I'm more proud of is how I acted as a teammate, leading learning and development for our segment, creating evergreen resources, and planning events such as a team-wide offsite. The first couple of months post-layoffs felt like a big exhale. I hadn't had an extended break from work before, and I used it to go on some bucket list trips, plan my wedding, and spend as many hours outside as possible. I wish I could say the same about the past few. I've tried every tactic in the book. It is ROUGH out here! I've been reluctant to make a post because it felt too vulnerable, and, well, LinkedIn kind of drives me nuts a lot of days. That said, I know I'd make a great addition to any team out there, and I would truly, greatly appreciate any introductions or consideration! I am open to roles in Recruiting, Program Management, Sales, or Marketing -- and have worked across all these areas in the past -- located in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or fully remote. I am so grateful for your help. Thank you!! #recruiting #talentacquisition #layoffs #jobsearch #marketing #sales #experientialmarketing #techsales #techlayoffs #programmanagement #peopleoperations #talentacquisition #hiring #xoogler #googler #TechSourcer #TechRecruiter

If you are hiring in TECH and are worried about resume "gaps" right now you might want to pull your head out of the sand and give a quick look see at the market, presently, and let's say, for the past 4.5 years. We had a little thing called Covid happen; layoffs were massive and the recovery was both uncertain and lengthy. So that covers 2020 and some of 2021. Then mid 2021 we started hiring at an unsustainable rate, like more money for more people, more problems kinda thing. This went on till about mid 2022. For arguments sake lets say November of 2022 is when it started to crumble. More than 250k people in TECH were laid off in 2023. Go ahead fact check me, its true. This obviously flooded the market with talented people and the number of open jobs could not support the number of people looking. So yeah, people have gaps in the resume right now. You can keep your hiring standards, in terms of work history, like it is the year 2015 or you can look past the words on a page (resume) and talk to people; hear their story. In fact you could help put this thing back together again. #workhistory #employmentgaps #layoffs #unemployed #hiringmanager #techhiring

Who thinks hiring in tech is easier because of the layoffs? Well, you are WRONG Any imbalance actually makes hiring tech talent EVEN harder. Candidates are jittery, hiring managers are nervous, and people make poor choices. Companies see FAANG talent and think they’re in a position to hire them, foolishly underestimating their compensation plans, without understanding the RSU components. Candidates tell you they’re now driven by purpose, mission, culture, and remote working, and have already moved recently and have had tough times. Oh and they tell you they’ll take less money, but in the end do they really? And wouldn’t they jump for more money as soon as it is available? Instability and turmoil don’t lead us all to a path of security, because what is security in employment, I mean if these huge behemoths with vast treasuries and reserves can make cutbacks, any company can. 2023 was the toughest year for Tech Hiring, 2024 is not as bad, but don't be fooled by the "green shoots" and "positive sentiment". You’re going to need world-class recruiters and talent teams right by your side, or you ain't hiring the ...
